Camp Day 2
9:00amEvery student in the room began to whisper to one another because of the fact that Shinomiya Koujiro is standing in front of them holding a recette of his own, their next task. During the task, as usual, they are forbidden to talk or help to each other or else they will be expelled. Words spread that he already expelled more than thirty students during the first task yesterday, making them panic, including a bluenette girl, but not the red-headed boy.
Terrine of Nine Vegetables
Though visually arresting with it's nine vibrant vegetables, each vegetable requires specific preparation and cooking times, and none must overwhelm or underwhelm it's counterparts. It is a Herculean task to bring all the flavors together."I choose the easiest of my recettes. Would you prefer a more difficult challenge?" Shinomiya said mockingly to the students.
"Recettes?" Yukihira Souma asked.
"He's talking about recipes." Tadakoro Megumi replied.
"Oh.""The limit is three hours. You may now begin." Shinomiya stated making all the students in the room dashed into the back to pick their ingredients.
Souma calmly picked his ingedients carefully while Megumi seems to be having trouble grabbing some of the vegetables because the others started pushing each other away. And when she's on the last ingredient which is cauliflower, that's where she started panicking because what is left are too small and already has slight discoloration.
"The slight discoloration... All the ones that are left are in early stages of oxidation! If I cook them as is, the discoloration will become more pronounced, and the terrine's appearance, a critical element of the dish, will suffer!"
She was about to call on Souma when she remembered Shinomiya's instruction not to talk to each other that's why she doesn't have any choice but to choose the most decent one. "I can't rely on Souma-kun all the time. I have to figure this out on my own!" Megumi thought.Souma started cleaning his vegetables and so did the others.
Megumi is still standing in the back trying to think a solution. "How can I preserve the cauliflower's color...? I know!"
Shinomiya is sitting in the front, legs crossed, fingers tapping the arm of his chair, still thinking about his class with Kurumi yesterday. He's still bothered by how the two males look at her, and he clearly know what it means because he himself looks at her like that. He couldn't even sleep thinking ridiculous scenes in his mind.
"Hey, that's not what the recette says, is it?"
"Huh? Oh right.""You two, over there." Shinomiya called on the two boys in the front. He couldn't help but to feel irritated on how thoughless they are.
"I told you, didn't I? You can't share information or help each other. Did you miss what I said?""Th-that wasn't it just now!" The boy defended.
"He's right. He just pointed out my small mistake..." The other boy said.Shinomiya knew they are right but his instructions are crystal clear. "That's what you call helping. You failed. Both of you are expelled." He pointed the door to his right.
Everyone but Souma is shocked but they continued doing their work. Unknown to the salmon-haired alumnus, Dojima Gin is standing in the left door, listening. He dialed a certain number on his phone. "Hello... You may want to be here as soon as you finish your task." Then he hanged up immediately and leave the room. A few minutes later, someone stood at the door, waiting for something to happen. While in the other classes... the other alumni already failed more than 50 students.
