Carl's P.O.V
Ever since I've gotten back, which was only yesterday, my dad keeps finding moments to bring up what happened with Negan. I expected him to ask me about it, but I never thought he'd continuously badger. It's starting to get super annoying. I just wish—

I'm pulled out of thought by a sudden knock on the front door. As I get up to answer it, I'm stopped.

"Carl, get back!" Dad says quickly.

"What? Why?"

"Carl, come over here," Michonne says from the living room.

"It's just a knock on the door. What's y'all's problems?" I ask confused.

"Carl.. Listen to me, Ron wasn't killed or exiled after you left. He's still here.." Dad explains.

"And that could be him," Michonne adds.

"He's free?! You two never punished him? You are our constables! What, blowing my eye out of my head wasn't worthy of being punished!" I yell through clenched teeth.

My hands are shaking through clenched fists as well. I'm furious now.

I push past Dad and open the door, half expecting, half hoping to see Ron with another gun.

"Hey, Carl. I was hoping you had a minute?"

Whatever emotion I was feeling disappeared when I saw her.

"Oh.. Enid. Hi," I say surprised.

I turn around to see relief wash over Dad's and Michonne's faces.

"Uh.. I don't think it'd be very smart for us to talk. Ya know, being that your boyfriend is still alive," I say harshly.

The memories start rushing back to me. Memories like how she stayed with him after he shot me and how she never came to see me while I was at Denise's for those many days.

Anger slowly starts to swell up inside me again.

"Carl, please. I know you're —"

"Goodbye, Enid," I say shutting the door.

I turn around, facing Dad's and Minnone's faces again, only this time their expressions are concern and curiosity.

"I'm going to my room."

After about twenty minutes of alone time, I hear footsteps coming up the stairs, followed by a knock on my door not too long after.

Michonne walks in and closes the door quietly behind her.

"Things got pretty quiet after you left. Everyone seemed.. different. The atmosphere in Alexandria seemed very.. off," Michonne says sitting on the bed beside me.

"Why are you here, Michonne?"

"When Negan attacked, he lined us all up in a single file line. He made Rick kill Deanna and Eugene. She —"

"Why are you telling me this?"

"Because you need to hear this."

Michonne gives me a stern look and counties to speak.

"Deanna told Rick he was a good man, no matter what he had to do, like killing her for example. She also told him that he had raised you right. You know the right decisions to make, even when it's hard. Carl, you're a good man. Nothing changed that, and nothing will change that. You were a good man back when Rick told you before we even made it to Terminus and you're a good man now."

"Everything has changed that.." I say softly under my breath.

"Before Deanna died, she told Rick to tell you she'll miss you. Baby, you have nothing to hide from. Everyone here loves you and understands why you did what what you did, they understand that what you went through wasn't your fault."

"He's dead.. because of me. He trusted me and now he's dead," I say softly.

"Come here," Michonne says wrapping me in a hug.

"Negan is the only one who's to blame," she says resting her cheek on my head.

I pull away from the hug after a few moment and stare out of the window.

Everyone seems happy, like they've never lost anyone. Or maybe they just seem so happy because I'm so sad.

"I don't know if I can live here again. He was supposed to be here with me. And Ron is still free.."

I realize this is like the absolute worst way to end a chapter ever and I'm sorry, but I felt like if I continued I would start to include things that don't need to be said just yet. So...

The next chapter should be better though!
