Sodapop's POV

I try to explore new places on my breaks before I go back to work. As I was walking around, I heard some man hollering

" CALL 911, HELP, HE STOLE MY WALLET! "

I see a man run towards a bald little girl and roughly pushes her onto the streets. I ran towards her seeing a huge truck about to run over her. As she stayed there in shock I sprung to her and got her out of the way.

I hear everyone clapping and cheering and I look at the girl.

" Are you alright?" I asked her

Without answering, she smiles brightly and starts to giggle.

" What is it?" I asked smiling back to her

" Nothing, you're just cute " she said smiling.

I let out a little chuckle with her still in my arms and look up to see her parents running to us.

" Are you guys hurt? " they asked

"We're fine" she says letting out a smile

I couldn't help looking at her smile that lit up.

As they thanked me, they offered me to spend the rest of the day with them and I learned so much about the girl.

Avalanna was her name, she was 9 years old, and she had Cancer. I usually wonder if people who had Cancer would suffer with pain. If Avalanna did, she sure didn't show it. Her joyfulness reminded me so much of Two-bit, she never showed sadness.

After meeting this special little girl, I decided to visit her most of the time when she's in the hospital.
