Chapter 30

Melinda's POV

Evie told me everything that Soda told her.

"I still don't believe him." I said.

"Mel, Soda never lies, at least to me he doesn't. Trust me. Trust him. It was an accident." She tried convincing me.

"Yeah well we all have to lie at some point to get saved." I said and walked away.

Later on that night, I walked to the Outdoor Ice-Skating Rink. I thought about the first day we had fun here, when we first kissed the night we came here. Should I forgive him? I saw Soda walk up next to me and I see him looking at me, but I don't look at him. He looks back at the Ice-Skating Rink.

"You...you remember the time I wrapped my arms around you so you wouldn't fall on the ice?" He asked.

I looked at him, he looked at me back, and I nodded with my eyes closed.

"Did Evie already tell you what happened? He asked me.

"I want to believe you so much but I just can't." I told him.

"Do you really think I would go back to Sandy after meeting you." He told me

I looked down and looked back at him.

"It's over." I said softly as tears ran down my cheeks.

"What?" He said as his face dropped and his eyes got watery.

"I know you missed Sandy and you would do anything to get her back." I said.

He let out a breath, slid his hand on his mouth, looked back, down, then back at me, and made a listening face. I know that face. He makes that face when he hears a slow-dancing song.

"Dance with me?" He told me.

I was so confused. We're in the middle of a break-up and now he wants me to dance with him?

"What?" I asked him raising my eyebrows.

"We started our relationship with a dance. Might as well end it that way." He said and I agreed.

While we were dancing, I thought of when we first danced, how happy I felt that day. I remembered Put Your Head On My Shoulder. So that's what I did right now, I rested my head on his shoulder. I didn't know the lyrics to the song we were dancing to, but I was listening to the words that it said and it went with what was happening right now.

I heard Soda crying when these words were sung. I wanted to cry too, but I needed to hold it in.

This isn't the right line of the song. It's supposed to say "Let this be our lesson in love.",but I wanted to put it in cause it went with what's going on right now.

They were dancing All I Ask by Adele

I couldn't hold it in anymore, once I heard these words, I started crying, sobbing and holding him tight. He pulled me back and said

"No.It's not over, I can't leave you."

He grabbed my head fast and pulled me into him fast to kiss me. He kissed me and it felt as good as my first kiss with him. I couldn't help but to kiss him back cause I knew I'd miss him and I loved him too much to leave him. He wrapped his arms around my waist and I wrapped my arms around his neck. He carried me to his house and we stayed kissing on his bed.

I got late and I had to go. I sat on his bed getting ready to leave until he wrapped his arms around me as his legs wrapped around mine, he kissed my cheek and whispered in my ear

"You know I love you right?"
I looked at him and nodded.
"And you know I wouldn't do anything to hurt you" He told me as he kissed me on my cheek again.

I smiled looked away and said

"Don't worry" then I turned to look at him again and said

"I believe you, and I forgive you."

He gave me a peck and then a long peck, I smiled and laughed. I didn't feel hurt anymore.

Soda's POV

The next day, we all reunited because Melinda and I got back together. I got a phone call and I picked up the phone.

"Hello?"

"S-soda, I'm n-not feeling so hot I'm.....(coughing) (throwing up)." I heard over the phone.

I was shocked and I ran to go to the hospital.

"Soda, where ya goin....? Darry's voice faded away.

Once I got there, I saw Avalanna's mom, Gloria with a worried face, but I didn't see Avalanna.

"Gloria, where's Avalanna? I asked.

"She has to have surgery. It's going to take long, so I 'll call you when they're finished so you can come back." She gold me.
