Sodapop brought his gang and introduced me and they all seemed to like me. They told me about their annual fight that night called the rumble. When they left, I was left alone with Soda. We saw the brightest star outside the window and told me
"From now on, when we see that star, we'll wish on it together. You'll say star light, I'll say star bright, and we'll both say the first start I see tonight. I'll say I wish I may, you'll say a wish I might, and we'll both say have the wish I wish tonight."
We both wished that the greasers would win the rumble.
