Chapter 12
Addison’s POV
“Ms. Reyes?” I jolted slightly and realized I had been daydreaming for practically half of the lesson. Just a few more hours, and you’re done for the weekend; it’s Friday, you can do it. Since Nathan and I hung out two days ago I hadn’t been thinking about anything except him.
“Yes, sir?” I replied seriously and he just gave me a warning look. I gulped. How embarrassing!
“Pay attention, please.” He just said and I nodded my head curtly. It’s quite impossible to pay any attention when your last class of the day—on a Friday—is Math, or should I say "Maths." It’s even harder when you’re just terrible with numbers. Soon we were dismissed and I met Sarah by the gate once again. We’ve just finished off our first week of college and she already looks dead. I laughed at her facial expression.
“What?” She pouted.
“You alright?” I chuckled.
“Meh,” she replied and I hummed. I was beginning to feel that way, too, but not quite yet.
“Hey, I got a text from Nathan this morning and he’s taking me out tomorrow…” I trailed off and Sarah squealed, all trace of tiredness gone.
“Yay! Can I help you choose your outfit?”
“Sure.” I patted her head and she acted like a dog, pretending to snap her teeth at my hand. I veered away from her as we walked to the closest taxi stand and she called out to me, but I just kept walking. She finally caught up to me and I screamed silently, if that even makes sense.
“You love me!” She chorused and I agreed just so that she’d shut up. The locals were giving us strange looks, and it was really bothering me.
“Alright, alright, now get off me before we get checked into a mental hospital,” I whispered to her and she got the hint, slowly turning her head to look at the questioning looks of the people around us.
“Addi, live a little,” she stuck her tongue out at me and I smiled at her, seeing that I won.
“Oh, can we stay in tonight? Maybe we can find something other than pizza?” I asked Sarah and her eyes shifted.
“Uh, actually can we go to the really cute Italian place we ate at, maybe, once? It's close to Costa...” She asked and I looked at her suspiciously.
“O-kay?” I said, extending the “o.”
“Great!” Sarah clapped her hands together, which sort of echoed, and the people around us looked back at us again. I groaned quietly.
It wasn’t long before we were at the front of the line and getting into a taxi. Once we got home, Sarah and I changed for the night, dressing casually, though not too casual. The whole way to the Italian restaurant, Sarah couldn’t wipe the smile off of her face and I wondered what was going on. That’s when I saw them through the giant, glass window on the side of the restaurant—I broke into a huge smile as well.
Rachel and Yenni were here.
A/N: Yay, double update on Friday the 13th! Ooo, spooky :P As you can tell, this chapter and the last are sort of fillers, but don't worry, things will get better (hopefully, once I figure things out) and I hope you guys keep on reading, commenting and voting on this story :) Sigh, thank God it's Friday.... Comment and vote! xx
