Chapter 28

Addison’s POV

Last night could not have been any more awkward. When Nathan came back from getting take-out, I couldn’t help but replay the conversation Jay, Sarah and I had back in her bedroom. As much as I still love Nathan, I knew it was wrong to take him back like a desperada…though I was somewhere along the lines of being just that.

We sat in the living area, silently eating. I could feel eyes on me the whole time as I drew food into my mouth and sure enough those eyes belonged to Nathan. And every time I caught him looking at me, he’d look back down with the saddest look in those green orbs. I’m sure Sarah and Jay felt the tension surrounding us, though they made an effort to diffuse it by making small talk here and there.

I then took the moment to really think about what’s happened between us. All it really is is that he left me for a fake relationship with Ariana Grande. Two things came out of me for that: I was heartbroken, but I also felt bad for Ariana, as it was real on her half. Honestly, this past month feels like it has been on repeat—same thoughts, same everything.

When we were all done, Sarah and I cleaned up for the boys and ourselves. Jay, not too long after we sat back down, said that he and Nathan had to go, as they’d be having a meeting tomorrow. Sarah was ready to usher them out when Nathan abruptly stood up and pulled me by my arm and into my room. To be frank, I was terrified by his actions. Nathan shut the door and stood arm’s length away from me. It took a while before he spoke, whilst I stayed quiet.

“Can I take you out on a date?” He asked just like the first time he asked me out. I forced myself not to smirk.

“I don’t know, can you?” I replied the same way as I did like the first time. I think Nathan remembered because he grinned knowingly. I returned the smile.

“I believe I can, miss,” he said and I giggled softly.

“Then give me the details of when this date is within the week,” I told him, wringing my hands together and swaying them slightly like I was a small child.

“I will most certainly do that.” He uttered and he began to lean forward. Nathan kissed me on the cheek, lingering there for a moment. We both smiled at each other and I sighed, taking his hand and ushering him out of the apartment. Jay had already been waiting outside and he beamed at the both of us, most likely suspicious of what had just happened between Nathan and me.

A/N: After over a month, I've finally updated...though as you can tell, I've updated for the sake of updating, but I hope that updating this for the sake of it will help me continue on writing some more. Honestly, I miss writing, but...these days I've just been plain lazy and trying to focus on school more. To those who actually liked reading my works, you're welcome hahaa, and thanks for being so patient! If you're hoping as much as I am, more updates (and maybe more stories) will be up soon! Don't forget to comment and vote, too!

Till next time :) xxxx
