Chapter 27

Addison’s POV

“Addi, I’m home!” Sarah sang as she pulled Jay through the door with her. Jay eyed Nathan and I carefully but I just gave him a sweet smile from my place on my infamous beanbag. Nathan and I had since moved out of my bedroom, as it got awkward for me, personally. I didn’t know what it was, despite the fact he’s kissed me today. It wasn’t the first time we were in my bedroom hanging out together.

Finally, I thought when Sarah stood before me.

“I see you’re still here, Nathan,” Sarah said suggestively as she rocked on her heels. I got up and gave Jay a quick hug and took Sarah’s arm, only to drag her into her room. I heard Nathan breathe out before I fully closed the door.

“How was your day out with Jaybird?” I started and Sarah gave me a teasing smile.

“Great…he’s great,” she smiled and looked down at the floor. I nearly squealed at their cuteness.

“Can I just say that I knew something would happen between you two,” I told her and she rolled her eyes playfully.

“I’ve heard that way too many times,” she laughed.

“Enough about me…what went on today while I was gone?” She asked and I just pointed to her door.

Our apartment is certainly not that big, therefore, the living area and kitchen are not too far away from our rooms. I cracked open Sarah’s door by just a bit and pressed my ear against the opening. As I predicted, Nathan and Jay were already talking about what happened between Nathan and me. I held out my hand for Sarah to take. She followed my lead and I moved to my left so that she could hear the conversation better.

“Technically, I’ve got her back…I think. But she doesn’t want to be officially back together just yet, mate,” we heard Nathan say. Sarah looked up at me and I nodded to give her reassurance.

“I know what’s going on here, Nath…she’s playing hard to get. You know what, just let her. You deserve it,” Jay said and Sarah and I giggled softly. It was clear that Sarah and I agreed on what Jay had just said.

“Thanks,” Nathan muttered.

“If you really love her, as you’ve already admitted, then she’s worth the work,” Jay lectured and my eyes went wide. Nathan loves me? Sarah nudged my arm as she smirked at me.

“I’ve told her that I’ll fight for her no matter how many times she refuses me…” Nathan chuckled and a silence fell upon the boys.

“Good. Don’t fuck up this time,” Jay emphasized and I heard Nathan sigh.

“Don’t plan on fucking up any time soon…”

I backed away from the door and breathed out heavily. Sarah gave me a short hug.

“What’d I tell you before? He already loves you…he was just a little shit to even succumb to Scooter’s orders,” Sarah told me and I laughed at her term “little shit.”

Suddenly someone was knocking on Sarah’s door and she let out a “come in.” It was Jay.

“Hello, ladies,” he greeted as he took a seat on the fluffy carpet I was on earlier this afternoon.

“What, did you just leave Nathan out there?” I laughed shortly and he smiled and shook his head.

“Nope, he went out to get us sustenance,” he joked, replacing the word "food" with sustenance." I looked at Sarah; she sure has bagged herself a heck of a guy.

“What?” She chuckled and I just told her it was nothing as I smiled to myself.

“So,” Jay started, “you guys aren’t together just yet?”

“No…” I nearly whispered.

“It’s okay, Addi…but Nathan really is a great guy. I hope that after you play your little game,” he said in a weird, gremlin-like voice and I giggled as he went on, “you two get together as one happy couple again. He was guilty when he was with Ariana all the time…I just hope you see that,” Jay said with sympathetic eyes.

I’ll play my “little game,” but I know for sure I didn’t want to lose Nathan because of it.

What I was most worried about now is how Nathan and I are going to get past this….

A/N: Yay, double update! After 10 hours but whatevs :3  This chapter is also a filler, if you all can't tell hehehe, and much shorter compared to chapter 26.
