Chapter 22

Nathan’s POV

It had been a couple months since my break-up with Ariana. The month of December had just gotten colder for me as the tabloids wouldn’t stop. I was practically bringing the rest of The Wanted down with me. I knew breaking up with Ariana was the best thing for both of us, but I couldn’t get Addison back. I felt like it was for nothing, but it was for something.

I don’t even know anymore.

Scooter’s been a little harsher on me compared to the rest of the group. It’s quite an adjustment as he had been treating me like his golden boy since my operation and now he frequently brushes me off and puts me on a guilt trip about Ariana. Despite the fact that we’re all being managed by Scooter, we—I—hardly ever see her anymore, as well as her entire crew and her brother Frankie. I even unfollowed Ariana on Instagram and Twitter just to forget about the mess I made in the course of only a few months. She unfollowed me, too.

Apart from the release of Word of Mouth, nothing much has been happening with our group, though tension had settled in and doesn’t plan on leaving. The lads with girlfriends (which is most of them) have been giving me the cold shoulder, giving me the message that what I had done was out of line.

Like I didn’t get that in the first place.

Today I was on my own. We’ve been in the UK for around a month now, and I’ve been savoring every moment, though I’ll admit, everywhere I went I hoped to see Addi, and as usual, a side of anxiety came with it. So far I haven’t seen her or Sarah, even when I casually walked by the university gates after 3 last week.

I sat in a Starbucks, thinking about what my life has become. It’s everything I’ve ever dreamed of, minus the relationship issues. That’s when I heard a video being played at the table next to me. Two girls and a boy, no older than 19, were watching the screen of the brunette-haired girl. I heard the unmistakable voices of Jack and Finn Harries…and Addison’s voice…. Thanks to my sister, Jess, I’ve been exposed to these big-time YouTubers, which explains why I know JacksGap. I’ll be honest, they’re a pair of good-looking twins.

I discreetly leaned to my left, sipping on my hot chocolate from time to time. I managed to read what was on the screen as I luckily had my nerdy glasses on. “Voice lessons with AddisonReyes,” it read and I succumbed to the urge of pulling my phone and earphones out and search for the video myself. I got out of Starbucks and sat myself down on a park bench not too far into Hyde Park.

The video was only published last week. Addison was wedged in between Jack and Finn, with Finn taking interest in her based on the look in his eyes. Heat rushed through my body for a second, and I felt protective all of a sudden. I literally shook my head as if it would make the jealousy crumble off of me and continued to watch the video. It was fairly amusing to watch the twins attempt to follow Addi’s singing…all three of them were singing random songs during random times and she sounded wonderful. I watched in awe and realized how much I need and miss her and I sighed.

Getting up from my place on the bench, I shove my phone back in my jacket pocket with my earphones wrapped around it; I bumped into a couple…a couple that just so happens to be Jay and Sarah.

Together?

Jay’s head snapped up, his eyebrows knitted together up until he recognized me.

“Hey, mate,” he smiled cheekily. I narrowed my eyes at them playfully.

“I didn’t know this was going on…” I teased and Sarah covered her face with her hands.

"Jay! Our secret's out!" She laughed and I smiled at the pair of them.

“I guess I’ll see you at home, Nath,” Jay pressed, hinting to Sarah that they should keep on walking, and I smirked at him.

“How are you, Sarah?” I played, prolonging their standing here with me, and Sarah giggled and replied with a positive adjective.

“And you?” She asked me and I hung my head.

“I’ve been better,” I muttered and she nodded knowingly.

“You’ve seen the video, haven’t you?” Sarah asked and I quirked my eyebrows upward and dropped them in reply to her question. “If you must know, Addi isn’t dating either of them…but she has been hanging out with the YouTubers a lot recently. They’re really fun,” she smiled and Jay scoffed jokingly.

“Are they more fun than I am?” He pouted and Sarah pecked his cheek while I stood there amused.

“You’re a different kind of fun,” she justified.

“Nice answer,” Jay stuck his tongue out, making Sarah laugh. They were walking away when Sarah turned back to me.

“By the way, she’s at home right now. And missing you. Terribly.” She winked and a surge of hope passed through me.

I smiled all the way to their apartment.

A/N: Helloooo, my lovely readers :) I know I said I'd update on Sunday, but school got in the way, and I've been making the best out of the time remaining I have in my school here in KL, with my closest friends. If you notice, I added a little JacksGap into this because I've been a little with the twins, especially Finn *swoons*  I just thought it'd be something fun and different to incorporate the famous English YouTubers, and I hope you all find that sorta fun as well, or else I'll be left here, behind my computer screen, sitting in shame.

Anyway, I hope you all liked this chapter, and please comment and vote!!! <3
