Pennia's POV

"We're out of water," I hear Bray say, tearing my gaze away from the sleeping Issac and Prim.

"Shh! Don't wake them," I say, pushing Bray playfully.

"Well, we need water." Bray deadpans, staring at her empty tin.

"Don't you know where the source is?" I say, standing from my seat on the log.

"No, Prim found it." Bray says, crossing her arms over her chest.

I roll my eyes, walking over to Prim. Kneeling down next to her, I gently shake her awake.

"P, wake up," I say, shaking her frame awake. "We need to get some more water."

Prim grumbled, pulling away from Issac, who was still sleeping. I helped her up, snapping her belt around her.

"Will you come?" Prim yawns, rubbing her eyes.

"Of course," I smile, picking up my spear from the ground.

Prim nods, kissing Issac's cheek before pulling on her light jacket. She nods to me, starting off westward into the forest.

Prim's pace is quick, skillful even; I have to job to catch up to her.

"Are you okay?" I ask, grabbing her arm to slow her down.

"Yeah, thinking is all." She says, smiling at me.

"About what?" I ask, stopping so we could talk.

"I'll tell you there, okay?" She says, pulling my arm to get my feet once again moving.

Ten minutes later, we are standing in front of a lake. The lake is vast, the water clean and clear. The sun was shining through the water, making the fish and vegetation visible from the shore.

"It's beautiful, Prim." I say, my eyes widened at the sight.

"I come here sometimes, to clear my head, at night." Prim says, nodding her head as she kneels down to fill up our canteens.

I raise my brows, following her actions. I fill my canteen, my backup one, and my tin bottle.

We sit, filling our supply, in silence. The air is full of tension; awkward, suffocating tension.

"Prim?" I say after minutes of silence.

Prim hums in response, looking up at me.

"Are you okay? What's on your mind?" I ask, scooting closer to her.

Prim let's out a sigh, pulling the grass out from the ground before turning to me, her face indifferent.

"The Games have been slow, we haven't killed many people, and we have no idea where the tributes are. We are going to die!" Prim struggles out, throwing her hands up in frustration.

"Prim, you aren't going to die!" I say, throwing grass at her.

"Stop saying that! Do you understand how horrible I would feel? Having to live with that weight?" Prim yells, her frustration evident. "I would rather die!"

"Prim, you have a life to live. You have family, friends, and a life to go back to  Issac and I don't have that, Bentley and Bray would die without each other." I say, keeping my cool. "That leaves you, the Victor."

"No, no! I won't let any of you sacrifice your lives for me!" Prim yells, pushing herself off the ground to pace. "And family? I have family? Where's my sister?! What about Rylan!"
