Issac's POV

I laid on my cot, listening to Penn's struggled breathing. I was supposed to be sleeping but I couldn't relax myself. I stared up at the dim lights above me, unable to close my eyes.

When I did, I heard her screams.

"Hello?" I whispered, hoping I would hear the quiet voices in my ear.

I waited and waited to no avail. I was met with silence, uncomfortable and heavy silence.

"Please, talk to me," I whispered again, sitting up quickly.

"Hello," a voice ran through my ear, deep and husky.

"Who is this?" I whisper again, looking over at Penn.

"Don't look at her like that," the voice barks.

I flinch back, furrowing my eyebrows. I look up towards one of the camera, moving my hand to grasp Penn's.

"Don't touch her!" The voice says, causing me to smirk. I moved my body next to hers, resting her head in my lap.

"Jealous, are we F?" I whisper, brushing Penn's hair away from her crisp neck.

"Yes," Finnick stiffly replies. I could practically feel his anger boiling in his words.

"Don't worry, my love for her is only platonic." I say, leaning my head back against the wall behind me.

"Is she getting better?" Finnick says, his voice slowly relaxing into a friendlier tone.

"The burns are going down but I think she's having trouble breathing." I say, my ears picking up her wheezing. "She'll make it, she's tough."

"One of the things I love about her," I hear Finnick sigh sadly.

"Do you? Honestly?" I ask, cracking my neck in am attempt to frighten Finnick.

"Yes, I do." He replies and I'm able to hear then genuineness in his words.

"Good. If you hurt her, I'll hurt you." I say, my voice dropping.

"If I hurt her, kill me."

"Deal," I smirk, looking back down at my best friend who seemed peaceful. I smiled at her, running my fingers through her tangled hair.

I stifled a yawn as I worked out the rats nest of Penn's hair.

"Get some sleep, yeah? We're watching." Finnick suggested, I could hear him settling in his seat.

I nod my head, slouching to a comfortable position. It didn't take long for the exhaustion to take over. Soon enough, I was sleeping just like everyone.

~

I was the last one to wake up, when I did, all eyes were on me. I went to stand when I felt the weight of Penn's body in my lap.

"Have a good rest, Sleeping Beauty?" Penn's raspy voice said, her smirk back on her face.

"I would've slept better if you didn't take up the whole bed," I joked, tugging a piece of her hair gently.

Penn rolled her eyes, slowly standing. She winced when she straightened her back; the pain made her grab me for support.

"We should have you shower again, without clothing." Prim said, taking Penn's hands. "It'll heal much better."

Penn nodded, unzipping her jacket. I slapped my hands over my eyes, not wanting to endure the wrath of my wife and best friend.

"Good boy," I heard Prim say, kissing the top of my head before leading Penn to the shower.

When I heard the door closes, I uncovered my eyes. The room was different since we'd last been here. There were new weapons, food, water, and a better security system.

"Did the storm pass?" I asked Bentley, standing up snd stretching out.

"Yeah, a few hours ago. Only three died from it, two careers and one non-career." He said, his eyes trained on the security films.

"Good, less lives to kill," I say, also watching the screen.

The camera is a bit fuzzy but I'm able to make out a floating device connected to a parachute.

"Is that what I think?" I ask Bentley, who nods before quickly opening the door from behind him.

Once the door is open, we run outside to collect the gift. We don't open it until we are safely back into the cornucopia with the doors shut.

I open the top, seeing a tube of sunscreen and a note. Handing the tube off to Bray, I open the note.

Issac,

Here is your share of a gift. This is for you but to be shared with Bray and Bentley. The cut on your shoulder will work out with this medicine. Prim's mother says hello. There are some trackerjackers near by, be safe. After you read this, go find them and then kill those damn insects. Your friends will thank you for saving their life but your own too. We will be watching you. We are sending more gifts your way. they'll be coming soon. Three more tributes until your alliance members. Then you're suffering days will over.

-C

I furrow my eyebrows, cut on my shoulder? I look at my shoulder, only a scar remains. I look at Bentley, who is reading over my shoulder.

I read the note again, noticing the bolded words.

Share this with Bray and Bentley. Cut out Prim's tracker then your own. We are coming. Three days.

My eyes widen when I read the secret message again. They're coming, District 13 is coming to save us.

I quickly turn to Bentley, whose eyes are wide and hopeful.

"What?" Bray says, walking over to us to read the message. Her reaction is much like ours, wide eyed and surprised.

"Penn's too," Bray says, taking a step back. "I will do Penn's."

I nod my head, I'm utterly speechless. Since the beginning, I thought that District 13 only wanted Prim. I also thought that we were only going to be protecting Prim, ensuring her survival.

Never did I think that District 13 would come to the arena and remove us all. It dawned on me how serious, and risky, this plan was. I looked up to face Bentley and Bray, who were staring at me.

"Duty calls?" I say, a smile tearing through my face.

Bray and Bentley smiled back, I knew they were as happy as I was about this plan.

In the back, I heard Penn's soft whimpers.

"I can't be in there with her.." Prim said, coming towards us.

I grab the note from Bray, shoving it into my pant pocket and smiled at Prim. She came over, wrapping her arms around my waist.

I held her tightly, kissing the top of her head.

"I know baby, but it'll be over soon. I promise."
