Finnick's POV

"We need to get Rylan," I ask, pacing in front of Coin and the rest of the team. "Penn will never forgive us."

"Who cares, leave Penn in the arena," Katniss muttered under her breath, crossing her arms.

"Excuse me?" I roared, slamming my hands on the table. "Prim would be dead if it wasn't for Penn."

I catch Katniss roll her eyes, turning to Coin who is watching us.

"Katniss, Mr. Odair is right. Prim would be dead by now if it weren't for Penn. Friends have fights." Coin says, smiling at me.

"But, President Coin, she yelled at and insulted Prim!"

"Your sister egged her on, Miss. Everdeen." Plutarch said, looking at Coin before the Victors. "Tonight, we will be sending a hovercraft to District 8 and District 12; we will rescue Rylan and Prim's mother."

"Can I go to District 8?" I say, perking up at the idea of seeing Rylan. "I'm the only one he's met out of all of us, even if it was awhile ago."

"Yes, you may go Finnick. With you, we are sending Gale, Johanna, and myself." Plutarch says, smiling at me.

"Thank you, sir," I say, shaking his hand before sitting in my seat to watch the games.

Penn was sitting away from the group with Bentley, who was treating her shoulder wound. Prim was curled up in Issac's arms, sobs shaking her body.

"She killed two tributes," Penn said to Bentley, I could hear the guilt in her words.

"Penn, no." I say, leaning towards the screen.

"It's my fault, I should've been paying attention!" Penn gasps, throwing her arms up into the air, wincing.

"Sit still," Bentley said, gently guiding her hands back down. "Prim's strong, she'll bounce back."

"Damn right she is," Katniss and Penn say, causing the room to look at Katniss while Bentley and Penn continue chatting.

"You two are a lot alike," Peeta says, breaking the silence.

"Prim is your weakness," Plutarch says, then he nodded to the screen. "She's Pennia's too."

Katniss shook her head, abruptly standing from her seat and leaving the room without another word.

I rolled my eyes, unable to stand Katniss' childish behavior.

She'd had to kill eventually. I thought to myself before standing, bidding everyone in the room goodbye, before making my way to the training center.

We were gathered in the loading area at exactly midnight. My plane departed in exactly ten minutes and it's passengers were myself, Gale, Johanna, Plutarch, and some other soldiers from District 13.

The plane going to District 12 departed an hour after mine; the distance was much shorter to D12 then D8. Going to District 12 was Peeta, Haymitch, and a few others from District 13.

Coin had banned Katniss from going on either mission, her actions in the conference room had their consequences.

I was the last to board the train, my heart already beating quickly. Taking my seat, I looked around at the crew. Everyone was chatting quietly, none of them seemed to be worried.

"So, we get in and we get out," Plutarch said, silencing all chatter. "District 8 knows we are coming, they have Rylan in one of the factories that are guarded by Peacekeepers who are apart of the rebellion."
