Pennia's POV
Finnick yanked the chair out, sitting down quickly before pulling me into his lap. I giggled, wrapping my arm around his shoulder.
"I hate to say this but," Issac said, smirking. "Damn, are you two are cute."
My cheeks flushed; ever since I met Finnick, I had been blushing uncontrollably. Just his presence made me unbelievably happy.
"Thank you, it's all her." Finnick said, his hands rubbing up and down my back.
The doors slide open, all of our heads turning to the door. There stood a woman with long grey hair and a wrinkly face. Her blue eyes seemed evil and lifeless.
My eyes narrowed at her as I straightened up in Finnick's lap. I stared her down, getting an uneasy feeling in my stomach.
"Hello, newcomers." She said, walking to the chair at the head of the table. "I am Alma Coin, but refer to me as Coin. I am President of District 13."
"As you know, we have just saved you four from the arena. We saved you all for the greater good of the rebellion, of the people." Plutarch said, I was able to recognize him immediately.
"You all will play a vital part in the rebellion." Coin said, sitting in her large chair. "Prim, you are adored by everyone you meet; they will follow your lead."
"Issac, you are the love of the rebellion. The way you treated Primrose and Pennia moved the Capitol." Plutarch continued for Coin.
"Bentley, you are the will power of the revolution." Coin said, looking towards Bentley, who had just been wheeled in. "You never give up, you push through absolutely everything."
"Last but certainly not least, Miss. Opalson." Plutarch said, all eyes on me. "Penn, you are the strength of the revolution. You hold it together, you are the hand that holds it together."
"Pennia, you and the Mockingjay are the reason this rebellion is still alive. And you two, together, will take down Snow and the Capitol." Coin finished, smiling slyly at me.
I looked at Finnick, who was gazing at me. We met eyes and I could tell he didn't trust her one bit. He nodded his head, his hand gripping my thigh.
I turned my gaze from Finnick to Katniss, who was glaring at Coin. I cleared my throat to get her attention. Katniss looked at me, her face revealed exactly what I saw from Finnick.
"Who knew?" I asked, turning my gaze to Plutarch and Coin.
"Everyone in your alliance knew except for you and Prim. They knew the plan was to keep Prim alive, they did not know they would be brought here." Coin said, her voice was usually sickening.
"Why wasn't I told?" I said, crossing my arms.
"Issac felt it was best if you made the decision yourself, due to your family situation." Coin said once again; she was quickly beginning to get on my nerves.
"That's an earful, could we all have some privacy?" Issac said, sending a forced smile towards Coin and Plutarch.
"Of course," Coin said, turning to the guards. "Show them to their rooms, please."
"Prim is staying with me," Katniss says, standing.
"Issac is staying with me," Prim fires back, smiling sweetly at Coin.
"Well, I'm staying with Finnick." I said, kissing his cheek quickly before pulling us both up. I felt my anger disappear, the plan didn't matter anymore.
"Katniss, Prim and Issac are married so they'll be receiving a room for themselves and their baby." Plutarch says, tapping away on his watch. "Although, we can arrange them to be close by."
"Yes, thank you, sir." Prim said, squeezing Katniss' hand.
"And Penn, Finnick already worked out the details for you to stay with him." Plutarch said, quickly standing from his seat. "I'd love to personally show you to your rooms but Katniss and I have some business to attend to."
I saw Katniss nod, kissing Prim's forehead and Peeta on the lips, before following Coin and Plutarch out of the room.
"I'm staying in the hospital," Bentley whispered, his teary eyes downcasted. "I'm unstable, I can't be around anyone."
I nodded, smiling sadly at him. "We understand, I'll come in later okay?"
"No, don't." Bentley said, his eyes turning up to me. "I hurt you once P, I can't hurt you again."
I looked down as I heard him ask to leave, the wheels to his wheelchair squeaking as he was rolled out.
"He gave you that black eye?" Finnick asked, his tone was angry and powerful. His hands gripped my hips, glaring at the place where Bentley was.
"Yes, but it's fine. He couldn't help himself." I say, rubbing my hands up and down Finnick's arms. "Show me to our room, yeah?"
Finnick nodded, his face still tight with anger when he grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the room
"Be safe!" I heard Issac called, causing both of us to laugh.
Finnick lead me to the elevator, repeatedly pushing the call button. I giggled at this, pulling his hand away from the button.
"Babe, pushing the button multiple times won't make it come any faster." I laughed, wrapping my arms around his neck.
"Shut up," Finnick laughed, pressing a kiss to my forehead as the doors opened.
I pulled Finnick into the elevator, laughing for what seemed like the millionth time since I stepped foot into this underground network.
"I never would've expected to meet you, to feel you, in person." I said, leaning against the cool metal wall.
"I knew you would." Finnick replied, brushing a piece of hair out of my face.
The elevator doors opened and Finnick took my hand, guiding me down the hallway.
"It's not big, or nice, but it'll do." Finnick said, stopping us at a door. He quickly slid it open, pulling me aside. "Welcome home, darlin'."
I smiled at him, walking further into the room. It had a small table and a bed, just big enough for two people. It was cosy, warm, and small.
"There's a bathroom through that door," Finnick said, shutting the door behind him. "Go ahead and get cleaned up, I'll be out here."
He smiled at me, sitting down on the bed that we would be sharing. I smiled back, kissing his cheek before making my way into the bathroom.
I closed the door behind me, looking at myself in the mirror. I didn't recognize the girl that stared back at me.
I grabbed the brush laying on the counter, pulling it through my hair until it was knot free. After, I pulled my sweater off, then my sweatpants, my socks, and then my gown.
I stared at myself once again, I was awfully skinny. I ran my fingers over my black eye, then my neck. My fingers found the trident on my necklace.
What was I doing? Why was I standing here, staring at myself like a fool, with the love of my life on the other side of the door.
I grabbed one of the towels, wrapping it around my body. Take a deep breath, I opened the door.
"Finnick," I said, his eyes finding me immediately. They widen slightly when he noticed me with a towel wrapped around my body.
"Shower with me."
