Why Am I Saving Prince Charming

Twelve years ago:

Miah and Chris were outside making pies discussing what they wanted to be when they grew up....

"When I am a grown up, I want to be a Prince" Miah proclaimed proudly

"Why?" Chris used to her good reasoning for her outrageous statements asked with excitement

"Well, then I am not the one who has to wear a pink dress she shuddered-pink eewww-and I get to have a big shiny sword" Miah answered

"Wow...that IS cool, then what would I be?" Chris asking incredulously

"You would be the damsel and I would save you from all of the mean people" Miah happily stated

Chris smiled, he liked the sound of that...those bullies at school teased him constantly, with her being the prince all the mean people would go away.

"Promise?" Chris asked, a little afraid that she would change her mind

"Yep, I'll even put it on paper" having seen her parents do this countless of times Chris and her ran into the house, making a side trip to wash the mud from their pie making off, then went into her room where there was a pile of colored paper and markers.

"I Jeremiah Harmony Damesell promise to save Chris Prince Harming from all mean people and save him when he is the damsel in distress" What else should I say???

Hmmm...Chris thought, well what if when she grew up...she got married and forgot about him...he saw it in cartoons all the time...then who would save him...

"How about, you promise to be mine and stay with me forever" Chris thought that this was a good plan...

"Chris, you are moving away in a few months, I'll promise to be with you forever in thirteen years; that will give us enough time to find each other again" Miah compromised

"Can we give this to Mommy so that she will keep it safe?" Chris didn't want anything to happen to the promise

"Ok" Miah thought that this would be a good idea too, Chris's Mommy always followed their requests to the "T", whatever "t" was...she put the promise in an envelope and sealed it...then they both turned to go find Chris's mommy

"Mommy, Mommy" the two of them ran up to Chris's mom

"Okay, we have a promise that you have to keep safe" started Chris

"And you can't open it" said Miah

"Not even a peek" Chris said sternly

"At least until exactly twelve years from now" Miah said, that sounded like a good number

"But we have to be with you if you open it" Chris said, wanting to be there when she opened it to see what a good idea that they had

"Yeah, ummm...during dinner" chirped in Miah, that was when both families were always together

"Okay sweeties, I'll go put this in the safe and put the date down in my planner" Chris's mom Sammy told them, thinking this would be perfect when they had a reunion

The two families had been together since Sammy and Melody, Miah's mother were in kindergarten together. They had been inseparable until Ben, Sammy's husband got a job offer that he couldn't refuse.

That man, Sammy thought angrily, she didn't care if he was about to be the new boss of a company, she liked her life the way it was, with her friend Melody and her son Chris with a best and only friend.

At school, Miah was walking down the hall heading to the cafeteria when she noticed Chris running full speed towards her with a terrified look on his face

Sighing, Miah got ready, guiding him into an empty classroom, she then stood her ground. It was not long till the group of girls came running...

"He headed to the gym!" Miah shouted making her voice sound excited

The group of girls squealed then headed in that direction

Chris popped his head out the door, "Are they gone"

"yeah" Miah replied

Chris sighed then stepped out of the classroom, "Geez, Kindergarten is tough..."

"It would be easier if you didn't have all of the girls attacking you" Miah said amusingly

"It is Not My Fault" Chris huffed, knowing that this was a constant argument

"I know...come on, lets get some lunch" Miah told him, hoping to cheer him up, it worked....until they got in the cafeteria...

Three bullies headed their way...

Miah watched the three boys approaching; figuring out what she was going to say...

"Haven't those girls caught you yet?" the three boys snickered

"No they haven't, they wanted you guys to have a chance" Miah told them triumphantly

"Why would we want to catch Chris???" One of the guys stupidly asked

"Well....because you three have a secret crush on him, that's why you keep teasing him" Miah told them happily...there, that will make them leave us alone she thought happily

"Not uhhhh!!!!!" the boys yelled "come on guys, lets go" the leader of the three huffed

The boys walked away

"Thanks Miah" Chris whispered happily

Miah smiled...what would she do without Chris? He kept her life fun and was always by her side...
