Two Months Later:

Miah POV:

Miah and Chris where in Chris's bedroom making sure that nothing would be left behind...

"I don't think mommy has forgotten anything.... She even grabbed Ms. Bunny" Chris told Miah while he was under the bed...

Ms. Bunny was a present that Miah gave him for his birthday...identical to her Mr. Bunny. Miah gave him his bunny a year after she got hers.

"What about me!!! You are forgetting to take ME with you!" Miah pouted

"I still don't understand why I can't come too!"

"Mommy said that you couldn't come because you would miss your mommy and daddy too much...is that true? Would you miss them more than me?" Chris was afraid of how Miah would answer...

"What?? That is the only reason?? Chris lets go to my room...You can help me start packing..."

Miah grabbed Chris's hand and lead him three houses down to her house...

In Miah's room:

"All I really need to pack is Mr. Bunny and a few clothes..." Miah wanted to only take the essentials...as long as she got to keep Chris then she would be fine without everything else.

Melody and Sammy were walking across the hall, heading to Melody's room...

Hearing what Miah just said....

"Miah...what are you and Chris doing?" Melody was worried, knowing her daughter as well as she did...

"I'm packing Mommy... I want to go live with Chris..."

"Miah, you can't go and live with Chris, you have to stay here with me and Daddy" Melody was bewildered, it had never crossed her mind that Miah would try to move in with Chris

"It's okay Mommy... I won't miss you and Daddy, at least... not as much as I will miss Chris"

"W-wait, no; that is not the point..." Melody had to stop talking and take a deep breath and count to ten before she could tell her daughter a good reason for why she couldn't leave with Chris

"You can't go live with Chris sweetie, think of where that would leave your father and I...we would be without Ben, Sammy, Chris...AND you..." Melody gave a shudder, "I don't think either your dad nor I could handle being without you Miah"

Miah though about this...even though she felt a HUGE pain in her chest at the thought of being without Chris...she realized that her parents needed her too...she was torn...

"I will stay for you and daddy" Miah's throat was tight and her eyes were watering...

Miah waited for their mommies to leave then...

"I'm sorry"

"It's okay...you tried..."Chris whispered in her ear as he gave her a hug

The Next Day:

The two moms were wailing, hugging each other and the same went two feet away as Miah and Chris were hugging each other like their lives depended on it, terrified to let go...

Ben felt horrible, he had rashly accepted the promotion of becoming boss without a thought towards his wife and son...but once he agreed he couldn't get out of it....

"Okay guys," sigh "time to go" the crying increased and so did the clinging, fingers turning white with the grasp

Ben picked Chris up and put him in the vehicle, "Noooooo..." both Miah and Chris cried, reaching for each other...

Ben helped Sammy up and guided her to the passenger seat, she was calming down to just hiccups...

" I...hiccup...will...hiccup....Call...hiccup...hiccup...you...hiccup" Sammy told Melody

"Every...hiccup...week...hiccup...hiccup...at least...hiccup" Melody pleaded

"Mommy...Chris can't go...who will fight off all the mean people and keep him safe??" Miah started panicking...without Chris...there was nobody to rescue...no one to stand by when the teasing

started...

Her eyes filled with tears..."Bunny don't make Chris go...please!" Miah pleaded with Chris's father, he gave her Mr. Bunny- her first rabbit and with his name so similar in her eye that is what she called him as well...

Miah's dad lifted her up, cradling her in his arms like he usually did when she was upset...

"Miah, Chris will be fine...he will not be in any danger or harm and both of you will find more friends" David tried to sooth Miah...only to cause more panic in both of the kids...

"But I don't want different friends" they both shouted

Chris did NOT like the idea of Miah having a friend other than him; she might choose that friend over him when the time came up for the Promise! No no no... Miah was his!

Miah was thinking the same thing...

I don't want Chris to have someone else protecting him! That is MY job! No... this was such a bad idea! Chris was hers and she didn't want to share!

"I don't want to share Chris with other people" Miah wailed...

Great! This was getting them nowhere! David mentally shouted...

David didn't want them to go away either... no play dates... no family dinners... no guy's night out... or game nights... he was losing so much!

Including his wife and daughter's happiness....

Jeremiah Harmony Damesell and Chris Prince Harming

Miah Harmony- My Harmony (sound it out)

Chris Prince Harming- take out the "hris" in Chris- Prince Charming

And Miah's last name, Damesell sounds like Damsel-

Ironic... because she doesn't want to be a "damsel" in distress, she wants to be a prince...

Think about that....
