Miah's Pov:

I parked in my usual spot then took a deep breath, stealing myself for the day ahead. Chris was already out of the car and opening my door.

"I can get out of the car myself" I reminded him, slightly annoyed.

Chris smirked, "I know but I'm still going to give you a hand"

I closed my eyes and tried not to get angry

Chris lifted me out of the car; I hadn't even noticed that he slipped my seat belt off.

"Come on, the faster we get this done the sooner we get to see Charlie." Chris gave me a happy smile

I frowned, "Why are you in such a rush to see all of these awful people again?"

"I'm just trying to help, I don't want to be here anymore than you do" Chris replied, sliding his arm around my waist as he pulled me close to

him.

I relaxed into his hold. My anger melted away. I then led us to the school building. At my locker, I was surprised that no one had noticed me

yet. Usually the Three Musketeers usually are at my locker waiting for me so they could make a few frog jokes at my expense. Hearing

running footsteps I looked up as Chris stealthily squished his self between me and the locker.

"Mary! What is going on?" I called after her

"There's a new guy here and just in time too!" Mary yelled back without glimpsing at me

Three other girls followed in hot pursuit then the first suddenly stopped causing the two behind her to fall on the floor. My eyes widened,

Harriet couldn't possibly have seen Chris standing behind me.

"Hey Jeremiah, I guess your wish has finally come true" Harriet stalked towards me

"Oh? What wish was that?" I held my breath, hoping she would just go away

"The wish that Troy is forced to move to a different town!" Harriet screamed "You're happy about it! Don't deny it! I know how much you

HATE him!"

The two girls quickly walked away, knowing that this could get messy and knowing that Harriet could easily turn on them.

Harriet was getting closer to me, in any moment she was going to see Chris which was just going to make matters worse.

"I don't want him to leave, I'm already moving away. Why would I want one of the Three Musketeers gone if I will be too?" I hesitantly stated

Harriet paused then stopped "You are moving?"

"Yes, I am only here right now to finish my last tests" I told her slowly

Slowly Harriet's bottom lip wobbled and her eyes lost their angry look, as she turned to walk away then spun around, "I'm sorry for getting

angry ..." her eyes widened then. She was looking behind my shoulder where Chris was hugging me from behind.

"Who are you?" Harriet said a little breathlessly

"I'm Chris" Chris gave her a quick glance then I felt his eyes turn back to me

"So you are the new guy, the one that everyone is looking around for?" Harriet said slowly her eyes still a little wide

Oh no, alarms started in my head, so that's what Mary was talking about, she thought that a new guy was going to take Troy's place!
