CHELSEA'S POV (Sixteen)

"Like every year, Cierra will be assessing the auditions. The auditions will be split into two parts, choreography, and solos. It gives us the chance to see your ability to follow choreographed dances and see how artistic you are. Our choreography will be performed by Chelsea and Josh Jayson as well as Chloe and Daniel Clost." I grin as the group cheers. Josh winks at me and Chelsea hugs me.

"Good luck." They both mouth and I chuckle quietly to myself.

"Alright, we'll go through the moves and you'll have an hour to prepare." Mum wishes us luck before walking back into her office.

Forty auditionees had been narrowed down to nineteen and I was thrilled. We had all prepared our solos and I could feel the anxiety increase as the first group is called to the floor.

"Okay, group one. Brandon, Amber, Nicky, Rani, Adrien and Dylan. Rani, go." A short African-American girl starts her solo. She's pretty good, but she's not A-Troupe material. "Amber, go." I hate to admit it, but Amber has wondrous technique. She's cocky and displeasing, but she is an exceptional jazz dancer. "Brandon, go." "Nicky, go," I beam. The girls and I cheer. Nicky is one of my best friends as well as one of the most gifted acro dancers I've ever seen. She made it to A-Troupe every year. The other go and group two are soon called. "Addison, Abigail, Tani, Sebastian, Callie and Harrison. Abigail, go." I whoop enthusiastically. Another one of the E-Queens and one of the most devoted dancers in the studio, Abi's contemporary is perfection. "Addison, go." My friends and I cheer for each other as the auditions continue. I want to make sure that all the E-Queens make it this year. They're all beautiful and skilled dancers. I space out until group three is called. "Vanessa, Bryce, Jennifer, Timmy, Tommy, Chelsea and Brittany. Vanessa, go." I watch each dancer move, finding their weak spots and their strong points. "Brittany, go," I smirk. Cierra knew to leave me till last because I've had a trick up my sleeve that I've been waiting to use since the end of the last dance season. "Chelsea, go." I can dance many dances, but lyrical, contemporary and ballet are my strongest styles. Well, that's what everyone thinks. To everyone, I was a ballet snob. Even my friends have no idea what I'm about to pull and it wasn't very clear because I have such a petite frame, you would never expect it. I hear Bryce make a snarky comment about me being a weak dancer. I smirk as the music shifts into hip-hop and I push my hardest. I stand in my finishing pose and the room goes mute with shock. An abrupt round of praise erupts from the group and I clumsily curtsy, red-faced. "Okay, thank you guys for auditioning. Names will be posted in half an hour." I clutch my bag, taking a sip of water.

"Come on guys. Let's go to Joelle's, my treat." The girls hug me and I grab my purse. As I walk out the door towards Joelle's, I intentionally bump shoulders with Bryce. "Not such a weak dancer now, huh Lupien?" I easily walk into Joelle's. Joelle's is a small cafe underneath the studio. It's run by a family friend of mine, Joelle. Unlike the other shops, Joelle's had been here for about three years. Joelle is a very kind-hearted and selfless lady, but I wouldn't mess with her. "Hey Elle, can we have the usual?" I ask, trying to be as friendly as possible.

"Sure, Chels. They'll be ready in ten." I smile kindly.

"Thanks Elle." The girls and I head to our normal booth. As soon as we sit down, I'm attacked with questions.

"What the hell was that?!" Jenny freaks out.

"Calm down, guys." I let my friends cool off before explaining. "As you know, I've always been quite a shy and delicate dancer. Over the past few years, I realise that I need to stand up for myself and others more. Hell, the E-Queens have a reputation for being sassy. I just don't want to be remembered as the timid daughter of Jiley. I want to be remembered as a fierce and elegant dancer. And I guess I just have dancing in my blood." Addy rolls her eyes.

"We all have dancing in our blood, but I've never seen anything like that." Abi grins.

"Yeah, that was unreal." I want to retort back, but Amber and her minions, Evie and Arielle, strut towards us, cackling like witches.

"Oh, if it isn't Little Miss A-Troupe. Shouldn't you be at your mother's office, deciding who's on the team? Or maybe with your dad, practising that abomination you call dance." Amber states. Her minions shriek with laughter.

"And shouldn't you be in your witch's hut? Please, if I had input, you would be gone without question. I work just as hard as you do, if not harder. And least I don't use bribery." A sour look appears on Amber's porcelain face.

"Honey, scowling doesn't suit you. You're already ugly enough." Nicky snaps back and her sister storms off with her minions in tow.

"What's Barbie angry about this time?" Zach chuckles. I see Jenny blush and mumble something about the bathroom before walking off. Jenny's feelings for Zach this year are stronger than ever and she's convinced herself that he doesn't like her. "Why does she always avoid me?" He sighs, running his hand through his hair. "Does she hate me?"

"She doesn't hate you." The girls and I laugh at Zach's obliviousness.

"Zach, over here!" His friends call.

"See ya Tiger." I punch his shoulder playfully as he leaves and Jenny comes back.

"Are you sure he doesn't like you? You get along so well." I hug my friend comfortingly.

"Trust me, he only has eyes for you. Me and him, it's platonic." I reassure her.

"Guys, we've got fifteen minutes before the names are posted. I suggest we head back and practice tumbling." Addi states and we all agree, grabbing our drinks. I walk up to the counter and slap some money into Joelle's hand.

"It's on the house. I insist." Joelle places the crumpled notes back in my hand. I place it in the tip jar and race after the girls before cafe owner could say anything. "Good luck!" I hear her faintly yell as I make my way into Studio A. I'm full of adrenaline, I can hardly wait.

ZACH'S POV

"Hey guys," I smile, greeting Brandon, Harrison, Logan, Chris, Alex, Jake, Shaun and Bryce.

"Who's the lucky lady you've drooling over for ages?" Harrison wiggles his eyebrows and I blush profusely.

"Well, it's Jenny..."
