(Samantha is one of the B-Troupe dancers if you didn't know)
SAMANTHA'S POV
I'm currently practising a solo that I'd prepared for an upcoming community competition in the Music Room. I'm really enjoying choreographing my own piece for once. You don't get many opportunities like that in B-Troupe, so I'm trying my hardest.
"Bryce, come on, man. You've only got six more weeks until Internationals." I quickly stop and hide under the sheet covering the drum kit.
"I know, I know. It's just... hard." I heard him sigh.
"What?! Have you fallen for Miss Dance Captain?" Harrison snorts. I heard Bryce awkwardly laugh.
"No! She's just so stubborn." What is he talking about?
"Give her the flower tonight before kissing her. Remember Bryce, if you can't get Tordjman to fall for you-" My knee knocks the drum kit and it crashes to the floor. The two stop and face towards me. "Come out, where ever you are!" Harrison shouts angrily. I shakily stand up. "Well, well. If it isn't Little Miss Christian. Too bad her parents don't know what's actually going on." I feel heat rise to my cheeks.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Harrison chuckles like I'm a complete fool.
"Listen, Burges." he gets threateningly close. "If you even think about talking about this conversation to one of your gal pals, I'll make sure that everyone else knows you aren't as straight forward as you seem." I feel tears fill my eyes and my angry glare turns to Bryce.
"You haven't changed, you're still just another player." I run off, frantically looking for Amber. I find her chatting with Chelsea. "Chels," I call and she smiles.
"Hey, Sammy-" I interrupt, shakily breathing and holding back tears.
"Can I borrow Amber for a second?" Chelsea gives me a look of concern before nodding. I pull Amber out of the Studio and into the parking lot.
"Sam, what are you doing? I've got practice in-"
"He knows." I sob, hugging her tightly. Amber melts into my embrace.
"Who knows, babe?" My tears soak Amber's bare shoulder.
"Harrison knows. He-"
"Woah, Sam. Calm down, I can't understand you when you're crying. Breathe in and out." I continue to slow my breathing until I could finally make sense of things again. "Now, tell me what's wrong." Tears sting the back of my eyes.
"Bryce isn't who he seems to be." Amber frowns in confusion before motioning for me to continue. "Bryce made a bet with Harrison that if he could get Chelsea to fall for him and he broke her heart, he'd get something in return." Amber's eyes widen with shock before her face scrunches with fury. "Harrison found me and threatened to tell everyone about us," I whisper hoarsely, tears threatening to spill down my cheeks again. Amber grabs my hand and squeezes it comfortingly.
"Come on, we have something to do." I smile shyly as we walk back in. Amber leads me to Miss Riley's office, not letting go of my hand. She knocks on the wooden door as I anxiously wait. We hear a muffled 'come in'. Amber practically drags me in as we're greeted by Miss Riley and James' flushed, smiling faces. I scoff, rolling my eyes. "Miss Riley, could you gather A-Troupe, B-Troupe and J-Troupe? There's something we'd like to announce." James sighs as he hands Riley a ten dollar note. My jaw drops.
"You've got to be kidding me." Riley laughs childishly as she shoves the ten dollar note in her pocket.
"Hey, I'm not as old and as blind as you guys think. I know all the gossip because I was involved in a lot of gossip when I was your age. Plus, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the not-so-sneaky heart eyes that you make from across the room." My face gets flustered as James chuckles. "I'll grab everyone, then A-Troupe needs to get back to filming." Miss Riley jogs out of the room.
"Actually, that gives me an idea..." James soon after runs out of the room, leaving Amber and I both confused and disorientated.
"Hey, it's going to be okay." Amber tells me comfortingly, not taking her eyes off of me. I can't bite back a smile as I hug her again. Miss Riley opens the door again.
"Guys, everyone's here." Miss Riley smiles sincerely. Miss Riley had always comforted me, she was like a second mother to me. We walk out, anxiety eating away at my patience. We walk out to find everyone chatting.
"Yo!" James shouts out of nowhere, interrupting everyone and allowing silence to creep in. I sheepishly thanked him as Amber started to talk.
"Someone thought it was funny to threaten Sam with a secret. Well, there's not much to tell." I could feel nerves tingling my body. "We're dating and if you can't deal with that, then you'll have to deal with me because I'm in love with this wonderful girl and if you harm her or threaten her, you're as good as dead." An unstoppable smile grows on my face as I kiss her. I hear cheering and whooping spread through the crowd. I finally calm down as I stay closely knit to Amber. "I have to go, love. I'll text Chels a warning. See you later." Amber kisses me again.
"Love you too, sweetheart." I wink and Amber jogs after her friends, chuckling. Violet is the first one to tackle me in a hug.
"I'm so proud of you. Congratulations!" B-Troupe tackle me in a group hug and I can't help but smile. My dance family, who are closer to me and more accepting than my actual family, care and that's all that really matters. I can be with the one I truly care about. I am accepted.
