The next day at school my mind could not stay focused on any of the classes. I tried my best to do what mum had told me,but everyone at school got on my nerves (except Mr. Alfred of course)
I did try to stay happy throughout the day. All of that turned sour when I went to geography class.
I was sitting in front of Delaney Simmons, the bossy,popular rich girl. She kept pulling my hair and flipping pencils at me. I could feel my face turning red. I tried taking deep breaths to calm down but that was not working at all.
The desk exploded! The fire alarm came on and everyone went out screaming and yelling "terrorist attack!!"
I looked around the room no one appeared to be hurt,but I could not really tell with them all running out of the door.
Instead of running the direction of everyone else I looked for Mr. Alfred.
Mr. Alfred was apparently looking for me too. We found each other.
"What happened?" He asked, " I heard and explosion! Are you alright?" He seemed very flustered.
"I am fine! I got mad cause Delancey Simmons was pulling my hair and flipping pencils at me," I said, "and then the desk exploded!" My adrenaline was kicking in and making me shake like crazy.
"I guess there is no time," he said to himself, "call your mother and tell her I am going to take you to school," he said as we were walking out of the burning school. I pulled out my phone and called my mum and told her what had happened and that he was going to take me to school.
"Aren't we already at school??" I asked him.
"Well yes technically, but not the one you need to be at," he said. I got a rush of excitement as he said that.
"Are you saying there is a school for
Element Ladies and Lads?!" I asked loudly
"Shushhh!!!" He said, "we don't want the whole dang school knowing what were up to!!" He said whispering loudly, "come with me!" He said while holding my hand and leading me around the school, "we are going to take a boy named Dominic with us to school.."
"Oh! Dominic!!" I said in surprise, "he is my brother's friend!"
"Yeah.. I heard about him making the fire in geography class, I also heard he got a Ring," he said
"How do you know that I contained Elements?" I asked him.
"Because you are extremely smart. And things react differently to you don't they?" He asked. I stared at him in shock
"How'd you know that?" I asked
Trying to keep up with his pace.
"I notice when you go outside things seem greener around you.." He said
"I thought I was just imagining things!" I said in surprise.
"No,you weren't... Only people who know what to look for can see,"
We were now waiting outside the elementary school for Dominic.
"So," I said trying to make sense if everything, "why are we bringing Mr. Dominic with us?" I asked
"We are bringing him because he needs to meet someone who has the same difficulties as he does.. Usually Element Lads and Ladies have social problems.. Except for family of course. And I think it would be necessary for him to meet someone his age and see that there are others like him.. Usually Element Lads and Ladies get along very well because they have so much in common... But occasionally there is some Elementism, which is basically the same thing as racism," he finished. I just stared at him in awe of how much he knew and how much I was missing out on.
Dominic came out of the school.
