"What?!" I said in shock, "I have seven!? There are only five!!! How is this possible!?"
"Oh no,deary,there aren't just five. There are indeed seven,"Lord Lem said still looking stunned, "as you may know,all Elements exist because of light,even the darkness. So you see the large ring is the Element of Light and the small ring of which you are standing in is darkness. This represents all of the Elements being controlled by the Light. And no one ever in this school has had more than two Elements. And that person,Rachael,was your father. He had Light and Darkness,"
I stared at him in disbelief. I could not believe what I was hearing. Half of me was absolutely overjoyed and the other was angry and confused.
"But!! How!?" I asked, "how can I have seven?"
"In all my years I have never seen this. I have no idea. I am sorry," Lord Lem said. I walked out of the circle. Dominic instantly grabbed my hand. I jumped slightly when he did so. I was expecting him to shun me now that I had more Elements than he did.
"Rachael, is it OK if I contact your mother?" Mr. Alfred asked.
"Yeah.. Sure," I said. He pulled out his phone(he apparently already had her number) and called her.
"Hello? This is Mr. Alfred,the man who took your daughter to Elementary School. She has all seven of the Elements," he said. At this point there were a number of squeals and and hoorays coming out of the phone, "we think she might be The One," he said whispering,but I could still hear him. My heart beat quickened when he said 'The One' my grip tightened around Dominic's hand. He hung up the phone.
"The One??" I asked Mr. Alfred, "what is that?"
"I need to go," he said, "I am very sure Lord Lem will be more than glad to explain The One to you," he said while looking at him. Lord Lem nodded. Mr. Alfred left in a hurry, "good bye!" He said as he walked out.
"Good bye!" Dominic and I said together. He left.
"Who's The One?" I asked again.
"It's a prophecy," Lord Lem answered, " it says that whoever contains all the Elements is the one who will either save our world or destroy it,"
"What!! Surely there must be some mistake!! I can't be a person in a prophecy!!" I said desperately.
"Oh,yes you can!" Lord Lem said sternly, "and you will be!!"
I stared at him in terror. Dominic was holding my hand very tight. I think it was an 'I am sorry' kind of grip.
"Are you two an item?" Lord Lem asked noticing our hand holding, " you two hold hands a whole lot,"
"No!" Dominic and I both said at the same time.
"Then why are you still holding hands after just saying no?" He asked trying to tie us up in our words.
"We're just really good friends," I said while frowning a little bit.
"Yeah, sure, I am not convinced," he mumbled under his breath. We both frowned at him.
"Here is your list of classes," he said while handing is some paper. Mine was considerably longer than Dominic's,but I did have more Elements to learn to master than he did.
"Why is transfiguration on here?" I asked while pointing at it on the paper.
"I take it you noticed the pillars outside with the Elements floating above them," he said, "well... Carved onto the pillars themselves were different animals. As Element Lads and Ladies you must learn how to transfigure into your Element Animal,"
"So I have to learn all seven?!" I asked, "what are the animals?"
"Fire is a lion, ice is a polar bear, air is an eagle, water is a Wolf, earth is a leopard, Darkness is a Black Pegasus,and Light is a Unicorn!" He said
"Whoa!!" I said in amazement, "that sounds epic!!!"
"The Pegasus that you are thinking of is probably not the type of Pegasus that you would turn into. Pegasus here are composed purely out of dark matter. They are black as night,have wings like a bat with edges like razors,hooves of iron, and blazing red eyes," he said.
"What still sounds pretty epic!!" I said, "what about the Unicorn??"
"Basically what you would think of when you thought of one. These are made purely of Light matter,very beautiful to watch in action,"
"Sweet," Dominic said, "so I'm a lion?" He asked.
"Yep!!" I said answering his question (which was probably meant for Lord Lem). I had already memorized which animal went with which Element.
"Cool! So,where do we stay? Do we have dormitories?? Or what?" Dominic asked while running a hand through his hair.
"There are dormitories," Lord Lem said, "they are sorted out by which Element you have, so you, Mr. Xavier will be in the fire dormitory. Now as for you,Mrs. Rachael,you can go to whichever dormitory you like."
I was rather pleased by the thought of this. I would stay in the fire dormitory with Dominic. I felt very relieved that we would not have to be separated.
"I'll stay in the fire dormitory," I said brightly. Dominic gave me a look of absolutely thanks.
"Just as I thought," Lord Lem said. I felt challenged by his words but I said nothing.
"I will have the guards take your luggage up to your rooms. And while they do that I will show you where all of your classes are," he said, "please take the luggage left in the dining hall up to the fire dormitory," he said into a walkie talkie, "now follow me!"
He first showed us the history lesson classroom. I found it interesting that we still had normal classes like we did in normal school. This room was quite small. It had a beautiful tile floor and ten by ten rows of fancy looking desks with XzInk computers.
"Whoa!! Wait a second!" I said while noticing the name brand of the laptops, "XzInk is a laptop brand?" I asked.
"Well of course!! It is made espically for our realm. You mother works there,does she not?" Lord Lem asked.
"Yes sir,she does. But what's so special about them?" I asked.
"These laptops are designed to challenge the user. They push you to your limits," he said, "I think you will enjoy them,"
"How can they push you to your limits?" I asked, "it's not like they can sense if you are smart or not."
"Oh,these can,that is something else that makes them so special. These are the largest brand name laptops in the realm," he said proudly.
"Whoa!!" I said, "how can they sense how smart you are?" I asked.
"I don't know! Can we get on with this tour?" He asked, "you will need to know where your classes are before tomorrow." He said sounding rather annoyed with all of my questions. I guessed it was a little beyond his bed time.
"Sorry," I said. He accepted my apology and took us to the next class room. It was the math class room. This room was much larger than the history room. It had a large screen on the wall. I guessed that was supposed to be like a high tech white board. There were fifteen by fifteen rows of desks that looked like the ones in the history room.
"How many students do you have?" Dominic asked. I felt like he just read my mind.
"About five thousand," he said, "most of them don't come till they are your age or older though," he said.
"Why not any younger than that?" He asked.
"Right now," Lord Lem began with an annoyed tone, "your brains are like little sponges. And with our technology we can help you become extremely smart while also helping you master your Element."
"Sounds reasonable," Dominic said sounding satisfied with the answer.
Next we went to the science classroom, then geography,social studies,English, and the library(which looked simply amazing!! There were so many books!!) We finally got to the classes that had to do with mastering our Elements. Those classes were transfiguration, hand techniques and how to use them, creatures of this realm and how to defend against other Elements.
He finally showed us our dormitory. The girls dormitory was down the stairs,and the boys was up the stairs. After showing us this he told us good night and left.
"Can I have your number?" Dominic whispered as soon as Lord Lem left the room.
"I was about to ask you the same thing," I said smiling brightly, "but yeah." I pulled out my phone and gave him the number. He texted me 'hey' as soon as he got to the boys dormitory. 'Go to bed. You'll need your rest' I told him. 'Good night' he said. 'Good night' I answered back. I found a bed,put on my pajamas and got in bed. I fell asleep instantly.
