I stood there and stared at him. He looked like he was about fourteen!! He was a little taller than I was(I was about 5'6 so he would have been about 5'9) He had bright green eyes, light tan skin, dark curly hair, broad shoulder with quite a bit of muscle.
"Hey, my name's Dominic," he stuck out his hand for a handshake. I took his hand and shook it.
"My name's Rachael. Nice to meet you," I said trying to sound kind of important.
"Nice to meet you too," he said. He had a deep and intelligent voice for twelve years old.
When Mr. Alfred got done introducing himself we went to his car.
"I am going to drop both if you off at your houses and I want you to pack and then meet me back here at five o'clock," he said while driving out of the school parking lot.
"Are we going somewhere?" Dominic asked sounding about as concerned as I did a while ago.
"Yes. I am taking you to Elementary School!" He said happily
"I was just there," Dominic said chuckling.
"No, not that Elementary School. The one where they teach you how to control your Element!" He said, "but, whenever I heard the name I thought the same thing,"
We were driving to Dominic's house first. There was a long silence in the car
"What's your best subject in school?" Dominic asked breaking the silence
"All of them," I replied simply, "how about you??" I asked trying to keep the conversation going.
"Mine is probably history and math," he said
"You would hate math if you had Mrs. Dinkle lemme tell ya!" I said laughing. He laughed with me. I could feel myself turning a light shade of pink. No one ever laughed with me about something, ever.
(except family)
"Do you have a least favorite subject?" He asked sounding very interested in what I had to say.
"Well,no. If it was least favorite teacher then yes. But least favorite subject,no," I said, "do you have one?" I asked
"One what?? Least favorite teacher or least favorite subject?" He asked sounding very confused.
"Least favorite subject," I answered.
"Oh,Probably social studies," he said sighing, "I am just like you.. Good at all the subjects but I don't like any of them except for history and math. But you seem to enjoy them and that's our difference," he said. I was very surprised at his attitude.
I was expecting some little annoying twelve year old boy who like to fight or wrestle. I was very wrong. I could see that he had the same struggles as me.
"Do you have any friends?" I asked trying not to sound mean or offensive.
"Yeah.. One,his name is Eric," he said.
"Yeah? Cool! That's my little brother," I said trying to act like I was surprised. I could tell Dominic was not very happy about having just one friend,so I tried to cheer him up. Dominic smiled, "really that's your little brother!! He's pretty cool. Does he have the power of Elements?" He asked sounding very eager.
"I honestly have no idea what so ever. I just now found out I had Elements!"
Dominic smiled at my oddness.
"You're pretty cool," he said causally. I had absolutely no idea what to say back. I just stared at him thinking
'did he really just call me, Rachael Levi, cool?'
"Thank you?" I said after processing it for a moment.
"You're totally welcome!" He said putting a hand on my shoulder. I have him a confused look.
"You're pretty cool too," I said
As he was getting out of the car.
"Thanks," he said, "bye!! See you at five o'clock!!" He waved as he went into his house.
Mr. Alfred drove me home next. We did not say anything until I got out to go in my house.
"Remember," he said, "meet me back at school at five o'clock!"
"How could I possibly forget!?" I asked while chuckling, "good bye!" I said while waving just as Dominic had done. I walked into the house.
Mum came running up to me and hugged me as if she had not seen me in a forever.
