"Whoa wait a minute!" Dominic said suddenly, "you drove us seven hours just to bring us to an apparent complex?!" He said exactly what I was thinking at that moment.
"Well how else do you think we are going to switch realms?" Mr. Alfred.
"I don't understand.. I thought the school was on earth..." I said
"Nope... It is in a completely different realm! And this is how we cross them," he said while gesturing to the apartments.
I still had no idea what was happening. But I followed along anyway. Dominic and I grabbed our bags and followed after Mr. Alfred.
He lead us up four flights of steps(which was extremely difficult while carrying luggage) He took us to room three hundred and ninety-four. He knocked of the door in an odd pattern. The door creaked open and a woman peeked through the small opening in the door.
"Back again,Alfie?" She asked through the door.
"Yes..." He said, "and didn't I tell you not to call me Alfie,Mum?" He replied sounding rather embarrassed.
"Your not the boss of me!" She said sassily, "come on in!" She said after a moment. She opened the door,and we came in.
"My name is Wanda!" She said brightly, "and I am the guard of the portals to the realms!" She said.
"Mum! You're not the guard if the portals! All you do is make sure that the wrong people don't come in," he sounded very annoyed when he spoke.
"Is that not what a guard does?" She asked him, "it was the last time I checked!" She said while giving him a very smart alec look,"Who are these little dears you have brought to me tonight?" She asked.
"I am Rachael!" I said brightly. I was really starting to like Mrs. Wanda already.
"I am Dominic," he told her.
"Well,it's nice to meet you both! Let me take you to the portal!" She said while taking us into her room. She led us to her large closet that smelled of old lady, "Now,hold onto all of your belongings so that they won't get lost in your trip," she said while closing the closet doors.
"I always thought it best if you sit on them," Mr. Alfred said(he did not have any suitcase he was just dropping us off. He was not going to stay with us at the school)
Dominic and I eventually got to where we could sit on our suitcases.
"Holding hands usually helps on the trip up there.. Many people complain about losing me during the transportation, because they could not see me or hear me during that time," Mr. Alfred said while extending his hand to me. I took his hand and Dominic took mine, "we're ready!" He called out to his mum.
I had no idea what she did,but as soon as she did it I felt like I was being plunged into a whole world of humidity. It was completely dark. I could feel Dominic's grip on my hand tighten. My stomach felt like someone had taken it out and put it back in upside down.
Suddenly it became very cold. It was a little lighter than it had been before,but I still could not see anything. It stayed like this for about a minute.
There was a loud thump as we hit the ground. I was flat on my back. We were still holding hands. I was panting like crazy. Dominic still had the death grip on my had.
We all stood up. I noticed that our suitcases had made it. That was a relief. I went to go and get my suit(everything had spread out at the landing) Dominic followed me while still holding my hand very tight.
"Where do we go from here?" Dominic asked while I followed him to get his suitcase.
"We will follow that path," Mr. Alfred said while pointing at a very wide path lit with lamp posts.
"That makes sense," I said while walking down the path with Mr. Alfred and Dominic, "What time is it here?" I asked.
"About twelve o'clock in the morning now," he said.
We walked for about thirty minutes down the path. It was surrounded by a forest. It was actually rather a calming sight(from what I could see of it) after being dumped through a portal. We did not talk,we were focused on getting to wherever we were going.
"So," Dominic said after about thirty-five minutes, "how big is this school?"
"About that big!" Mr. Alfred said while pointing at a massive castle.
"Whoa!!!" Dominic and I both said.
