   Matthew came back with clothes for (Y/N). She explained the conditions to him. Both brothers begrudgingly agreed. After that (Y/N) left to go get changed.
Alfred sighed as he sat down on the couch once again. Matthew joined him. "I feel so bad for (Y/N). It kind of feels like we forced her into telling us what's wrong, eh?" he said.
Alfred leaned his head back. "Yeah... But we have to know what's wrong so we can help her."
"B-but she said not to interfere and not to worry aboot her."
"Well it's not like we'll be able to not worry about her. And besides we won't interfere, we'll just help her feel better."
   "W-we'll help her in any way we can,right?"
   "Of course. She's our friend and we promised to help her. I know you understand her shyness more than I do, but that doesn't mean I don't want to help her."
   (Y/N) returned blushing slightly and wearing the clothes Matthew had given her: a red long-sleeved pullover and black sweatpants, both were a bit too big for her.
   Aww... She's looks so cute... The brothers both thought.
   (Y/N) returned to her spot on the couch in between the two boys.
   "Are you sure you want to tell us this, (Y/N)?" Matthew asked. Alfred gave him an expression that said 'dude, what are you doing!?'
   (Y/N) inhaled and exhaled shakily. "Y-yeah I'm s-sure... I-I planned to tell you both one day... I-I just didn't r-really think it would be today..."
   The brothers both turned to look at her as she started speaking.
   "W-well... It all started when I was just 6 years old..."
~~~Flashback~~~
   (Y/N) was a happy, entergetic girl. She would run around, play with friends, and always talk to people when they talked to her.
One day, she walked home from playing at the park. She entered her house and heard her dad shout, "IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!!!" Then came a loud smack. "YOU IDIOT!" He shouted.
"Wh-why are you blaming me for your mistakes?!"
"MY MISTAKES?!? HOW DARE YOU? I'M DONE! ALL OF THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR TOO LONG!! I'M LEAVING!"
"W-what about (Y/N)!?"
"I DON'T CARE ABOUT THAT STUPID, LITTLE BRAT!"
Sobs could be heard from behind. The two adults turn to see the small (Y/N) crying in the doorway.
"Stupid kid...," her father said. He pushed past her and left... Never to return.
"M-mommy?" (Y/N) said between sobs.
Her mother knelt down and put her hands on her shoulders. There were tears in her eyes.
"(Y/N) promise me something," she paused and took a shaky breath, "Don't trust people too easily... You never know when they could be lying to you..."
From that day on, (Y/N) stopped talking to people who weren't her good friends.
~~~Time Skip 8 Years~~~
(Y/N) was 14 years old. A few of her friends had moved away or drifted apart, but she still had some of her friends. She still refused to talk to other people.
She came home one day to see her mom and a strange man smiling and holding hands.
"Ah, (Y/N)! Come here a moment." She approached her mother slowly, not really wanting to interact with the strange man.
   "This is my new boyfriend," her mother said, "Come say hello."
   (Y/N) cautiously outstretched her hand to the man. "Hello..." She said. "Hi, (Y/N)!" He said with a smile.
   "I hope you'll be able to get along," her mother said with a smile. (Y/N) didn't exactly trust new people, but she trusted her mother... So she would try to get along with him.
~~~Time Skip~~~
   (Y/N)'s mother was almost never home. When (Y/N) would come home from school, her mother was never home. She would go to sleep, wake up the next morning and find her mother asleep next to her boyfriend.
   She could tell her mom was happy, which made her happy, but she had to start tending to her needs on her own. She had no one to take her anywhere, so she would always walk; she did all the chores around the house; she made all of her meals and bought all of the groceries.
   One day she recieved a text from her mother. It read:
Heyyyytyyytty!!'m csm u com hone?
   She didn't entirely understand the text, but she was pretty sure her mom was asking her to come home.
   When she arrived, she found her mom on the couch. "Heyyyy, (Y/N)!!!! *hick*" "M-mom? Wh-what happened?" She asked. "Nuh'in's wrong *hick* (Y/N)."
   "Mom... Are... Are you drunk?"
   "Heheheheh... Yeaaaaaaaah..."
   "Hey (Y/N) is that you?" She heard her mother's boyfriend yell from the kitchen. He stepped out into the living room. He looked different than he usually did.
   "Go buy suh'more beer," he said.
   "I-I'm not old enough..."
   He smacked her in the face. "Stupid little girl."
   "B-but i-it's not m-my fault..."
   "Don't talk back to me!" He smacked her again, this time with more force. (Y/N)'s face stung. Her eyes stared to tear up.
   "Wh-why are you d-doing this?" She said choking up a bit.
   "Because you deserve it, you worthless brat!"
   She ran to her room and locked the door. Suddenly there was a loud banging. "Hey!!! Come out of there!"
   She gave no response. Eventually he stopped and went away. She didn't know how the nice man her mother had introduced her to could be so mean.
   She took this time to think about her own life. Is everyone else like that? I don't know... But I don't want to be hurt by the ones I think I love...
   ~~~End of Flashback~~~
   "S-So... After that incident... I slowly drifted away from all of my friends. I-I didn't want to be hurt... Like I already had been... I-I never told my mom any of this because she seemed happy... I-I also thought.. I didn't need any friends... I had been doing well on my own... I felt like they w-would hold me back... My friends didn't understand why I had changed because I never told them any of this. Th-They tried to keep talking to me, but I would never really respond. After that I moved to highschool... N-No one knew me... My friends had all gone to different highschools... So no one talked to me... And... I-I guess that's why I'm shy..."
   (Y/N) had managed to get through her entire story without crying, but she had tears built up in her eyes. She couldn't help it... She began to cry. She burried her face in her hands. Tears flowed down her cheeks steadily, and they didn't stop.
   Suddenly, she became surrounded by warmth. She looked up to see both Matthew and Alfred hugging her from both sides. Her first instinct was to push them away, but... She didn't... This physical contact... It made her feel... Better. Her tears didn't stop, but she managed to talk...
   "Th-thank you.. B-both of you..."
   She hugged both of them back.. The sky was a mix of orange and gold. The brothers looked up at (Y/N). She was still crying, but she was slightly smiling. They sat there in silence for a while.
   Eventually, (Y/N) stopped crying and broke away from the hug. The others did the same. "So... Are you going to be okay?" Matthew asked. She nodded. "Y-yeah... I'll be o-okay..."
   "Let's get something for you to eat," Alfred said. The two boys stood.
  "Th-thank you... I-I appreciate it..."
   The brothers began to walk out the room.
   "O-oh g-guys..." (Y/N) said. They turned to look at her. She was smiling. "Th-thank you... For listening and for cheering me up..." They smiled back at her.

   Together they sat on the couch eating soup and watching TV while wrapped in blankets. When night came, they all said good night to each other and went into their separate rooms.
   (Y/N) sat down on the bed and slightly smiled. She felt safer in their house then in her own. She did not think that talking about her problems would make her feel any better, but it had. This was the first time in a long time talking to others had made her feel better... She wondered what would happen if she continued talking to Matthew and Alfred... She drifted off to sleep...
