Less than a week had passed since that day. Alfred and Matthew had been acting normal, but (Y/N) couldn't shake the feeling that something was different...
For the most part they were normal, but there were some other times when they sounded kind of forced and awkward. She wondered if something had happened. She did not ask any questions though. She did not want to be the start of an awkward conversation.
One day, Alfred and Matthew said they had to go do something before going back home. They went a different way, leaving (Y/N) to walk home by herself.
On her way back, she began thinking of what could be wrong with the two brothers. They had been fine before... It had been that day she and Alfred had made pancakes. In that short time it took her to clean off her clothes, they seemed to have changed.
(Y/N) arrived back at the house and unlocked the door. She stepped inside and passed the living room, but she stopped. She saw two figures on the couch. At first glance she thought it was Alfred and Matthew.
She was about to speak up when she got a closer look. These two people weren't Alfred and Matthew. She did not know these people. They were talking quietly to each other, so they hadn't noticed her.
(Y/N) began to slowly back away, but then she tripped over her own foot. Gah! I'm so clumsy! She thought.
"Oh, deary me. Are you alright there, love?" said a boy with a British accent. "Mon cheri, you seem to be a bit startled, non?" a boy with a French accent followed.
(Y/N) looked up at the two figures who had been sitting on the couch. One had short blonde hair, green eyes, and bushy eyebrows, and the other had shoulder length, wavy blonde hair, and blue eyes. They were both wearing her school's uniform.
The one with the shorter hair extended his hand to her. She hesitated. "Wh-who are you?" The two looked at each other, then back at her.
"Oh, yes. Sorry about that, love. I suppose it must have been a bit scary to walk in and see two strangers inside the house," the man with the bushy eyebrows said. "I'm Arthur Kirkland. And this..." He was interupted as the other man stepped in front of him holding a rose out to (Y/N).
"Bonjour, mon ami. My name is Francis Bonnefoy." The British one, Arthur, pushed him aside. "You git! What are you doing!" They began fighting, mumbling things to each other that are inaudible to (Y/N).
She just stood there, and then the two suddenly stop fighting. "Anyways, sorry about startling you," Arthur said. They both looked at the girl before them, which caused her to feel nervous.
"So... I'm guessing you're (Y/N) (L/N), then?" Arthur asked. She nodded . Both Arthur and Francis smiled. "So you're ze one zey've been talking about. Ohonhonhon~," Francis said with a sly grin on his face.
"W-wait... Wh-what? Wh-who's been t-talking about me?" She asked nervously. The two boys looked at each other and smiled. "Alfred and Matthew, of course," they said in unison.
(Y/N) began to slightly blush. "W-wait they were talking about m-me to you? H-how do you even know them?"
Their smiles faded. "Have zey not mentioned us to you, ma cheri?"(Y/N) shook her head. Both of them gave disappointed sighs. "Wh-why? H-how do you know them?"
"We're pretty much the closest thing to family they have," Arthur said flatly. (Y/N) looked down. "O-oh... I-I'm sorry i didn't know..."
They just stood in silence for a moment untill (Y/N) decided to speak up. "S-so what have Alfred and Matthew been saying about m-me?" she asked nervously.
They both thought for a moment. Francis began. "Well... Zatvyou are funny."
Arthur continued, "And really nice."
"Kind of shy, but would open up if someone got to know you well."
"That you have a great personality."
"You are really pretty and cute."
"They like having you around."
(Y/N) stopped them, her face tinted slightly red. "W-wait what was that last one?"
"They like having you around?" Arthur asked. (Y/N) shook her head. Francis smirked. "She means zem calling her pretty and cute."
(Y/N)'s face turned more red. She wasn't sure she had heard right at first, but this confirmed it. "Wh-why are they saying th-things l-like that?"
"Well... You are pretty and cute, for one. Ohonhonhon~" After this comment, Arthur smacked Francis on the back of the head. "Shut it, frog," he said, slightly annoyed.
Arthur explained, "Probably because they are really close with you. You are rather pretty." He mumbled something else, but (Y/N) could not understand what he had said.
"What was that last part?"
"That you are rather pretty?"
"N-no, you said something after that."
"It was nothing."
Arthur just smiked at her, and so did Francis. It made her sort if nervous, but she tried to ignore the feeling.
Talking could be heard coming from in front of the house. "It seems they have returned home. It's time we get going. Come on, you git," Arthur said while he ushered Francis out the back door.
"W-wait! Why are you leaving n-now?" (Y/N) asked. "Oui," Francis replied, "We don't really want zem to know we were here. Keep it a secret. Ohonhon~"
"We shall be seeing you around!" Arthur said. Then the strange duo left the house. A few seconds later, Alfred and Matthew entered, carrying bags of groceries (Alfred had also picked up a hamburger).
The two set down their bags. Once they were finished, they walked into the room where (Y/N) was. As soon as they entered the room, they stopped in their tracks.
"I-is something wrong?" She asked. The brothers both inhaled deeply. Matthew began, "It smells like roses," "and burnt food...," Alfred finished.
They both looked at (Y/N). "They were here weren't they?"
"Wh-who do you mean?"
"Arthur and Francis."
They certainly figured that out quickly. She thought.
"Y-yeah...," she still did not like to lie.
They both let out a sigh. "They always do this...," Alfred said. "S-sorry. We should have warned you...," Matthew apologized.
"I-it's fine," (Y/N) said. Those two had actually been rather nice. The rest of the day was filled with the three talking about Arthur and Francis and sorting and putting away groceries.
