The next day, (Y/N) woke up. The sight of waking up in a different house no longer confused her. She would certainly miss her old house... And her mom... But, she had done this for both her and her mother in a way.
She needed to move out, she needed to get away from the abuse and loneliness. She wanted her mother to be happy, and she was afraid she might ruin that for her... She needed to get away.
It was a Saturday, so she wasn't worried about school. She looked at the clock on her nightstand. 6:40. She always woke up early, probably because she was used to taking care of herself.
She peeked out the door. She didn't hear anything so she decided to stay in her room. She left the door slightly ajar, so she could hear when the others woke up.
She opened up one of her notebooks. Whenever she had nothing to do, she would mainly either read or write. She loved to write stories. She had had so much grief in her own life, that she prefered to create a whole other world to live in. She would often base the main charcter on who she was, or, more oftenly, who she wished she could have been.
She was in the middle of writing when there came a knock on her door.
"C-come in...," she said awkwardly, not knowing what else to say.
Alfred opened the door slowly and stepped inside the room.
"Do you normally get up this early on weekends?" She said, noting that the time was 7:00.
He shook his head. "Nah, I just got into the habit of setting my alarm at night. I set it last night and it woke me up. What about you? Do you always get up this early?"
(Y/N) nodded. "It's a habit... I always wake up this early..."
Alfred walked over and sat next to her. "Whatcha doing?" He asked, pointing at the notebook full of words.
"I-I... Uh... I-I'm writing a st-story...," she said softly.
"Really? You write your own stories?"
She nodded.
"Can I see?"
(Y/N) handed Alfred the book and watched him as he read the first chapter. No one had ever read her stories before. She was kind of nervous of what he would think. Her mind was racing:
Will he think I'm just a big nerd for writing books? What if he doesn't like it? What if he thinks it's weird so then he thinks I'm weird? What if he starts criticizing me on how terrible it is? What if...
"It's really good!" Alfred said closing the book.
"R-really? Y-you think so?" (Y/N) asked in disbelief.
"Yeah! You really are a good writer. It's a really creative story, too! I'm not that big on reading, but you should let me read your story when you're done."
"Y-you really like it? Y-you think it's good?"
Alfred nodded with a smile. (Y/N) smiled a small, shy smile. She looked up at him and said, "Have you ever tried writing a story?"
He looked at her. "Well... We had to write a story for an assignment a few years ago. The teacher said it was pretty good."
"What was it about?"
"It was about this awesome hero! He went on this awesome adventure, and saved people, and beat up all the villians, and saved the world from destruction!"
(Y/N) giggled. "That definately sounds like something you would write." She sat there for a moment. "Have you ever written a story just for fun?"
Alfred shook his head. "No. I just never really thout about doing that for fun."
"It helps me get my mind off things," (Y/N) said, "It lets me just... Put myself into the story... Where everything is better."
Alfred looked at her. She was smiling sadly. He felt bad that she felt she needed to get away from the world. But he could tell she really liked writing...
"Hey!" He said enthusiasticly and loudly, causing (Y/N) to jump slightly. "Why don't you and I write a story!"
"Y-you mean like... W-write a story... T-togther?"
Alfred nods, smiling.
"Y-yeah... I-it could be fun having someone else to write with."
"Woo! Let's write a story!"
(Y/N) got her laptop and sat back down next to Alfred. "Ok, first let's come up with some characters and a plot."
(Y/N) and Alfred collaborated to come up with the basis of their story:
The main character was the hero, he helped people and always had a smile on his face. Then one day his sidekick brings him a small, frail girl he found lying unconscious in an allyway. They help the girl recover, and when they find she has no where to go, they invite her to join their team. She does so, and they fight evil together.
"I think that's enough for now," (Y/N) said, noticing the time was 8:10.
"Yeah! It sounds pretty good to me!"
"Well... We need to add something, another conflict to be solved... Like maybe one of the characters gets kidnapped, and the other two have to go save them. But, let's just leave it as it is for now."
She closed her laptop and set it back down on the table. She turned back to look at Alfred.
"Th-thanks, Alfred... Th-this was fun," she smiled. She walked back over to him and wrapped her arms around him. "N-no problem, (Y/N). I-I had fun, too."
There's that weird feeling again... He thought as (Y/N) hugged him. He stuttered and his face felt warm. He had never felt that way before... Why does (Y/N) make me feel this way...?
(Y/N) released Alfred. He stood and said, "Wanna come help me made breakfast? Mattie should be waking up soon. He normally makes breakfast, but why don't we do him a favor today?"
(Y/N) nodded. She and Alfred went downstairs and began preparing breakfast.A/N: Thank you all so much! 100 Reads!!! It means a lot to me that you all like this story enough to continue reading it. I hope you all continue to read, vote, and comment. Thanks again!
