I slowly opened my eyes just as the sun started to hit my room. The birds were chirping and with how loud they were, I sometimes didn't see the need for an alarm clock. I pulled the blankets from over my legs and slowly swung them over the side of the bed. I sauntered over to my closet and pulled out my daily ninja outfit and set it on my bed. I walked out of my room and into my bathroom where I showered and brushed my teeth... Just like every other day. I slipped my hair into a ponytail and let my bangs out in front of my face. I could feel the awkward progression of the day. How you wake up and something just feels... off. I could feel it... I knew I wouldn't see Itachi for a long time and that hurt me a lot.
I walked out of the door and went to Sasuke's house to take him to school. I put on a fabulous fake smile as knocked on the door. Mikoto answered.
"Oh hello Reika! Have you seen Itachi lately? He wasn't here this morning..."
"Itachi came by my house and said he had to go to the Anbu early for a single man mission."
Lying for him to his own mother, so Jr. High... The hardest part was how was I going to lie to the Anbu captains.
"Well I suppose he'll be okay. Pardon me, my dear, would you like to come in?" She offered.
"Actually Mother... I came to take Sasuke to school and I'm going to take him to the park later when he gets out if... that's okay with you?"
"Oh my, that sounds wonderful! Sasuke needs to get out the house a bit more and not just for school."
We both laughed as Sasuke came strolling down the stairs.
"REIKA-CHAN!" Sasuke yelled as he jumped and hugged me. I smiled and hugged him back.
"Sasuke quiet down," Mikoto scolded him.
"Yes Mother," Sasuke replied as he pouted in my shirt. I grinned and pulled away so he was at arm's length.
"So Sasuke, I have a really fun plan for when you get out of school. How does that sound? Do you want to hang out with your big sister Reika?"
"Aw man, Do I? Of course Reika-chan," He chorused as his beamed happily.
"Okay then, it's a date," I said as I winked at him.
"A d-date?" He questioned and I could even see a blush creep onto his face.
"Okay you two... Off to school, before you're late.
"Yes Ma'am!" Sasuke and I said at the same time.
Sasuke put on his shoes and I bowed to Mikoto before we left. I put Sasuke on my back as we headed towards the Ninja Academy. I sighed walking past all the families with kids. I stopped mid-step when I heard my stomach growl.
"Sasuke do you mind if I stop to get some breakfast? I promise to get you to school on time." I asked him with an awkward sweat drop coming from my forhead.
"Hm? Yeah, No problem Reika-chan."
We stopped at the nearest convenient store. You picked up some already made coffee and some toast.
"Hmm... Sasuke what would you like for breakfast?"
"Hmm anything but NATTO," Sasuke said as his face twisted with disgust.
( A/N: Natto is a type of food that can be put on rice and bread it's almost like nuts with a sticky paste around them and Nattokinase is just the nut part or it's also medicine :D)
I giggled at him, "Of course little one."
I picked Sasuke up some milk and a warm Bento Box with breakfast inside. We went over to the cash register and an old woman was there.
