Leo

Thankfully, he woke up somewhere different from where he fell asleep, even though he couldn't remember exactly where that was.

The room was gracefully white and the sunlight on his face was warm.

He heard some whispers in the distance.

"He's awake."

"I know, just let him rest anyway. We're in no hurry."

He heard them leave the room. He didn't move. He laid down and felt the sun in his face.

Hours later, his brain was finally working. Why had he fallen unconscious? He couldn't remember.

Maybe he took his training too seriously again. Or he worked to hard to heal someone with the death cute flowing in his veins. Both of these had happened before, leaving him to wake in a room kind of like this.

The place looked like a large school classroom. The average school classroom with a medical bed and an automatic IV dispense machine. The floors and walls were white. Floor to ceiling windows lined a wall. Their special tint kept people from seeing in, but did nothing to prevent him from seeing out.

Why was he on an IV? All he needed was ambrosia. Heck, even time would heal him right.

The bags he was hooked up to were filled with normal hydration fluids and other minerals. The kind of stuff you'd see in general hospital back when it was running.

He looked t his other arm. The liquid was replacing something that was flowing out of him.

His heart rate elevated, the machine behind him beeped like crazy. The Elite doctor came running in as he was trying to pull out the dark IVs.

"Stop!" A nurse cried. "You'll hurt yourself. It has to say in."

"Why am I here?" He demanded as they wrestled him back to the bed. The nurses strapped his wrists and chest down to the bed.

"Calm down." A soothing voice said. "Breathe. You're not thinking clearly."

Leo yelled louder. "Why is the tube black? Why can't I see what's coming out of me?"

"Breathe. Please breathe. Trust us and breathe."

He thrashed in the restraints. "No!" Whatever was leaving him, was taking his energy.

"We need to get these off! The restraints are freaking him out." A male voice cried.

"No." The nurse said in a reasonable voice. "It doesn't matter he'll hurt himself! Don't worry. He'll run out of energy soon enough. Then we can explain."

Leo held still. "Explain now."

The nurse shook her head. "You were in an explosion. The radiation got in your veins. The death cure was doing a good job of sustaining you... But it didn't have the power to cure you. We've given you an extract that has separated the chemicals from your blood and we're pulling it out now. We're trying to keep you hydrated, but this will be exhausting."

Leo sat back and scolded himself.

"We can give you something to sleep, when you wake up it'll all be over." The nurse offered sweetly.

"In a minute..." He mumbled, suddenly tired. "Is everyone okay? What happened?"

"Don't worry. Everything is going to be fine. Like I said. We're in no hurry."

When Leo woke up again the sun was rising. The IV's had been pulled out and someone had taken him to his room.
