Percy
Percy's arms and legs were held down by thick metal cuffs. He laid on a slanted board keeping his body upright.
He was strapped to a metal cage inside a large empty room. There was nothing: no walls. Just complete darkness. Percy could see nothing, but he could feel cold wind blowing down on him.
He was in the void.
Persues, stay calm. A voice said from every angle. It was echoing from the very air around him. Be still, my Omega.
****
Percy's head felt numb.
His entire body felt numb.
He couldn't remember anything that had happened the night before. He woke up in iscabin, in the Alaska Compound. Two Riders came to escort him to this mini-suite. It had a large room with a TV and luxury recliners. A kitchen full of strange plates that gave him whatever he wanted to eat. A small swimming pool, basketball court, and bedroom.
Percy had a feeling he was going to be here for a while.
On the first day, Percy ate nothing. He wasn't hungry. He slept for hours and laid on the couch in front of the TV, not watching anything. On the second day, Percy ate everything he could think of. He floated in the swimming pool to ease his stomach. On the third day, Percy perfected his shots from the 3-point line on the basketball court before going to sleep early. On the fourth day, Percy yelled at the room. He pounded on the one door he couldn't open. He shamelessly cried his eyes out on the kitchen floor. He spouted profanities at the ceiling. On the fifth day, he figured he'd lay in bed until he died.
Today was different. Chaos sent his friends in to cheer him up. Bianca came into his room and sat on the edge of his bed. She ran her fingers through his hair and spoke softly.
"Percy. It's time to get up."
He groaned and rolled over.
"No! Percy," She complained. "This is just rehabilitation. Get up!"
She grabbed his arm and dragged him out of bed.
He did not want to get up. He couldn't explain what he was feeling. The hopelessness, it was so much worse than the last time he was rehabilitated. He cried silently on the floor, unable to keep the warm tears from spilling out.
"Bianca," He whined. "I wanted to stay in bed."
"I know." She whispered, a tear running down her cheek as well. "It sucks, and it's awful, but Sustenance thrives on movement. You have to move. I won't let you fall into the ravine. I have lost two friends in the ravine."
"Lose me too. I don't... I don't want to..."
Bianca slapped him. She grabbed his arm and dragged him out of the room. The entire gang was waiting for him. Everyone except Octavian and Leo. Michael, Charlie, Lee, Zoe, Ethan, Castor, and finally Bianca.
Percy smiled sadly. "This isn't normal, is it?"
Ethan stepped forward. Percy could always trust him to be honest. "No, you're in isolation. Leo betrayed us and tricked you to break him out of prison. Chaos and the other Riders are holding a trial to see how involved you were."
"Chaos is there?"
"No," Lee said. "He's just overseeing. But the odds are you'll be fine."
"He broke Leo out," Ethan noted.
Bianca shut them up. "There's a video of you and Leo. He called in on your trust. He said there was a mix-up and that he was innocent. He said you needed to break him out and prove him innocent. You... I think you made the right call. He was very convincing. but, somehow, he took Sustenance out of your system."
