Percy

Alpha Lowered the jet right over one of the secluded cities on this planet that had managed to stay above sea level.

This entire planet had always been at least ninety percent water, but as the water level has risen over the centuries it had drowned most of their land. Radiation in the core has been freezing the water from the bottom up.

While some of the towns still stood on hills this city was right on the cusp of extinction.

Large veins of moss grew along the stone walls. Puddle of white and brown water sat in patches every five feet.

The people, whose name Percy couldn't pronounce, had built crappy wooden bridges over their old walkways.

He and Charlie closed the bay doors and stepped onto a creaking wooden pathway.

"Where we given any information on this artifact?" Percy wondered.

"Not much. But we're looking for three Violets. Try to find someone who walks like a Rider or am Elite."

"Mm," Percy cringed. "If we've learned anything about these Violets, it's that they're trained very little before coming to us specifically so they can 'learn on the job' like you and I did."

"Right. They'll blend in. Look for new clothes, someone that is mirroring others. They would have seen us land, so they'll be trying to get a boat."

"Right," He agreed. "Lets hurry, I don't want to do this when the sun goes down. The Elites excel in the dark."

They marched together down the pathway.

"Where is everyone?" Percy asked.

"They're staying in. Chaos' influence has left this world, so it's devolving."

"I've really got to read up on the other planets."

"Doesn't matter. Chaos has decided... Never mind. I'll go over it later."

Percy looked at each if the soaked, moldy, or eroded buildings for signs of the Violets.

A couple curtains moved, but nothing that would show an Elite presence. Nothing clever enough or sneaky enough.

But something seemed off. Wrong. He felt something tugging on his heart. Leaving powerful thuds in his chest and throat.

Percy looked behind him.

"Omega?" Charlie stopped ahead of him.
"The jungle," Percy mumbled, his vision disorientated. "We should search there."

"Alright." Charlie tucked his pants into his boots.

After he shook himself of the strange feeling Percy did the same.

He armed himself with a rifle from his keychain. Charlie ripped off the key shaped as an axe and held it to the side as it grew in his hand.

Charlie went ahead first. He jumped off the deck and walked slowly down the dusty and muddy hill.

He waded in knee deep into the green water and pressed forward into the jungle.

Percy followed until he could no longer see the washed down city behind him.
The sun set slowly until it was completely dark.

Percy and Charlie had been traveling along wet and slippery logs above the water. It had gotten too deep for them to travel through.

"Their oceans are really shallow." Charlie noted.

"Thats because this all used to be land," Percy grunted has he pulled himself onto another log. "All the same level too. The water's just creeping up the island."
