I was left there trying to figure out what happened.
I got sick of pacing around in my room so I decided to go down to breakfast as well.
But once I arrived to the cafeteria, every boy was looking at me like they lost their puppy.
Once I finally sat down at my regular table with Caprian and Seidon, they both stared at me.
"What? What is everyone staring at?" I asked, worried that Jaeryn already told everyone that he kissed me.
"Are you dating Jaeryn?" Seidon asked all of a sudden quietly, not looking in my eyes.
"What?" I asked snorting. "No."
"Are you sure?" he asked.
"Yes."
"'Cause he's going around telling people that you just said yes." Caprian finished with a surprising low growl.
"Why?" I asked.
I hacked through my brain for any moments that might have triggered something for him to think like that, and finally landed on a specific memory.
I groaned and hit my forehead as I remembered.
"Jaeyrn came to our dorm to test out some pick-up lines on me, and he asked me to be his girlfriend, but I thought that was a weird, straight-forward pick-up line, so I said yes. Yes as in that it could work. Yes as in that it could work on some girls." I said banging my head on the table repeatedly.
Caprian and Seidon looked at each other and leaned back simultaneously.
"Oh." they both said.
"What?" I asked.
"He likes you." Seidon said.
"What? Why?" I asked.
"At first, when you said that he was saying pick-up lines, I had suspicions because the only other time he's done that was to his last girlfriend. And let me tell you. He doesn't get girlfriends." Seidon said seriously.
"Why didn't you tell me your goddamned suspicion?" I asked, suddenly standing up.
"Because I thought it was to just flirt. I didn't know." he said with his surrendering hands.
"Well, I don't know what to tell him. I don't want to embarrass him by telling him that wasn't what I wanted, or anything. I mean, I respect man pride." I said nervously chewing my manicured nails.
They had a silent discussion with their eyes and finally came down to a decision.
"You need to pretend to be his girlfriend." Caprian said miserably.
"What?" I asked.
"That's the only way to save his man pride. I hate to ask you to do this for him, but...." He trailed off.
"Well... Pretending to be a girlfriend until he dumps me? How hard could that be?" I said shrugging slightly, trying to crack a joke to lighten the low mood.
"Thanks. I just......... Never mind." He said shaking his head sadly.
I slowly nodded my head, and watched as they moved their food around their plate.
When the school's bell rang for first period, I went and threw away our plates as they packed their things.
"See you in a while." Seidon said before leaving for his class.
After Caprian and I said our good-byes to him before leaving for ours.
"What are you going to do about Jaeryn?" Caprian asked suddenly, tugging at his bag's handles.
