FEYRAH

Today was finally the day when we drove down to the funeral.

My dad made me and my brother both prepare speeches. He said something about coming in handy later in the future or something.

No complaint fro, me though. I loved Aunt Cylia. She was like the only reason I liked anyone. She showed me the beauty of people when I was just seven.

"Noah, if you don't come down, we're leaving you here." I said. "And there's no food or money or games here." I yelled a bit after. I heard a groan from upstairs.

I smiled as I flipped the pancake and poured it on a large plate.

My high heels clicked on the marble floor as I went over to get the syrup and fork and heard my dad coming out of his room struggling with his tie.

"Hey dad. You need help with your tie?" I asked, dropping the bottle of syrup and walking over to him.

"Thanks sweetheart. Your mother always told me that it was embarrassing that I didn't know how to tie my own tie." He said as I worked.

"It's fine. It's not like a cook should always know how to tie a tie....... I think." I said laughing.

"Call your brother down. He needs to eat before we leave, or he'll complain during the service that his stomach grumbles." he said when I stepped back.

And just like a cue in heaven, Noah came stomping down, while slinging his black blazer behind his shoulder.

"Make me a pancake." He said, sitting down on the tall stools behind the bar counter.

"What am I, your slave? Make it yourself. And don't tell me you don't know how to make it, because I've seen you make you're own gourmet meals." I said, handing him the batter bowl.

"Whatever. Make me pancakes. I'm really not in the mood to do or say anything right now, so can you just.... cooperate?" He asked rubbing his face.

"No." I said, grabbing my own plate and disappearing into the study room.

I grabbed my phone as I went over to the couch in the center of the room, and saw that Caprian and Seidon had texted me how and what I was doing.

I quickly texted them back the briefs. How I was going to Aunt Cylia's funeral and how she died and all that.

Apparently they were on because they texted back in seconds.

'Oh, sorry to hear that you lost your aunt. H'bout we get some tacos outside of school when you come back?' Seidon texts me.

I quickly text him back saying I'd love that and I move on to the next.

Hey, so I finally got the balls to try out for lacrosse again. Cheer me on?  Caprian's text says.

I smiled before writing him a short paragraph on how proud I was and that I'd definitely cheer him on. He had told me a while back on what happened when I questioned him on why he wasn't doing a sport.

I shut off my phone and finished my pancakes and went back to the kitchen to return the plate and fork when I walked into a very weird conversation.
