"Bye dad." I said, moving to give him a big hug. Then I turned to Noah.
"Hey, don't give any poor girl something she and her family don't want. You get where I'm going? Don't drink, and don't do drugs and don't drive while doing any of that. Uh... Don't... Slack off... You still have to go to college. If you still can anyway..." I said, muttering the last part under my breath.
"Whatever. See you during Christmas break." He said giving me a slight wave of his hand before disappearing around the corner.
"Well won't you look at him. He doesn't say any more that that. I'm starting to regret this parenting.." My dad said scrubbing the back of his neck.
"Hey, at least I'm good. Don't bunch me with him. We're totally different. If you haven't noticed, I have pretty good schools who have asked me to choose their school. While he probably can't even get into one without bribing the school director." I said sighing, still shaking my head at the direction where he disappeared off to.
"Yeah, yeah. And do the same what you told your brother. I mean I trust you, but I still have to make precautions. Don't make a poor boy a father, don't party too hard to the point where this happens, and.... Study hard. I'll miss you sweetie." He said, giving me a hug again.
I laughed and gave him a hug back, and waved goodbye as I carried my bag and I to the front of the line to get on the plane.
As I settled down, my phone rang again.
You're coming back today right? Caprian asks.
Yeah, I'll be there in a couple hours. See you soon? I text.
I'll be waiting XX.
I smiled at the two Xs at the end, turned my phone off as the plane attendant overhead instructed to, and leaned my head back and closed my eyes.
I let out a breath as I felt the plane elevating into the sky with alarming speed.
I looked out the window next to me as the plane flew overhead, trying to find my house, just as I do every time in a plane.
I took a quick zoomed up picture and sent it to my brother, something that turned into something like a tradition.
I plugged in my earphones and pulled out my laptop and looked through the all the homework Seidon sent me.
This... Is the reason why I don't like every being absent. Make-up work.
Since I was working on my homework, the plane ride felt shortened by half.
"Would you like a snack or drink, miss?" I heard the flight attendant ask.
"Uh, no.... Actually, I'll take a water." I said as I fished out money.
As I glanced farther down the aisle, I saw a young guy, around my age, coming up towards my direction.
"Lady, will you move it? I have to take a shit." He complained.
I almost dropped the bucks that were in my hand from his bluntness.
"Oh, I apologize sir. If you'd hold a minute I'll pass through." She said politely.
He glanced at me and made a face.
"Will you move any slower? My dead grandma moves faster than you." He said.
I scoffed as I traded with the attendant, keeping eye contact with this mother-fickle.
"First, kid, it's considered obvious and humane to wait for her to get done with me, okay? And you don't just announce you have to take a shit, that's for you to know and you only. No one cares. It's not like people will move faster for you. This is something that's common sense. Kid." I said.
