"Hi Dad." I said hugging him.
"Hey sweetheart." He said hugging me back.
"How long are we going to stay there?" Noah asked from the luggage claim.
"For a week at least. Pay our respects-" our dad starts.
"Our respects for who exactly?" Noah interrupted.
"Don't you remember? Aunt Cylia, the one who you used to cry when she went home?" He asked surprised.
"Cylia? She died? Isn't she like twenty? Why?" He asked on alert now.
"A terrible car accident with her boyfriend. Her boyfriend died instantly, but she didn't go without a fight. She fought bravely for a week before she died." Dad explained.
"I can't believe she took a loser for a boyfriend," he said huffing.
"I still can't believe you used to have a crush on her. That's like so incest and she was like ten years older." I said cringing.
"I was five. I didn't know who she was." He said blushing.
I had always teased him for liking a far cousin. I mean, she may be far on our family tree, but she was still in the family tree.
"How long are we staying?" I asked, strolling my bags behind me.
"Have something to get back to?" Noah asked with his eyebrows up, teasingly.
I gave him a glare and shoulder bumped him, making him stop.
"Your mother tells me she admitted you into a new school, is it nice? Well I guess I can't really do anything if it wasn't nice, because your mother is a very scary woman." He chuckles.
"Did she tell you that its an all boys school?" I asked.
"What?" He stops.
"She admitted me into the best boys school." I told him.
"That's crazy. Why would she do that. A young lady as yourself cannot be surrounded by horny men who wants to get in your pants every second." He said whipping out his phone.
"Dad, moms on a Internetless volunteering trip." I said with a sigh.
He turns to me with a trembling lip.
"I convinced your mom to go there. She was just so stressed with all the calls and emails from work, she was getting knots in her back, so I told her to go somewhere without the access to all these, and she decided to go volunteering." He said, almost about to cry.
"Dad, it's fine, she's back in a month right? Just a month. I know how to handle myself." I said, clasping my hand on his back.
My dad was a famous chef next to my moms work place, who even made it to have a 5 star restaurant.
He and my mom love each other so much, despite of their differences.
My mom was known to be the hard rock, who always got her way and things the way she wanted. My dad was more of the soft marshmallow who put everyone before him, and always wanted the best for people.
I was really glad to have my family, because it wasn't the cliche hard, cold ass parents, who doesn't care a shit if their child goes to prison except for their reputation. I had loving parents who taught me and Noah.... No just me, how to live properly, how to treat people, and how to earn respect.
