I wake up, drenched in sweat. I thought the nightmares had started to fade. I can barley remember my dream, but I am guessing it had something to do with Paige. She was my younger sister. She was just a month old when they came. They took her. And my mother. And my closest friends. And me.
I want to make them pay, but I don't know how. They look so human. Even worse, I am the only one who knows they exist. They took over, but not without a war. Many lives were lost, families destroyed. Then they ripped apart the already broken families and had every memory replaced with fake ones. They assigned everyone a predetermined life, one they had complete control over.
Whatever they did to everyone else did not work on me. I remember the war. I remember my real family. I remember what was supposed to be forgotten. This is a dangerous thing. If they find out I am sure the will kill me. I can trust no one.
