"What does that mean?" I asked.

"It seems that Danny hasn't been sleeping much lately and that, paired with the shows he's been performing, means that his body is now fighting back, forcing him to rest." The doctor explained.

"So what do we do?" I asked and noticed Quinner leaning forward to make sure he heard this.

"Well" the doctor continued "Danny is adamant that he wants to perform tonight so I've put in an IV line to see if we can get him back on his feet but going forward, he needs to start taking better care of himself, rest is not optional" he said sternly.

I went through to the bedroom leaving the doctor talking to Quinner.

Danny was sitting up in bed and was already looking better, although I hated the idea of him having drugs pumped into his veins just to allow him to perform.

I sat on the bed next to Danny "How are you feeling?" I asked him.

"A million percent better" he said with a smile.

"How long have you not been sleeping for?"

"A few nights" he replied dismissively.

"Danny, what's going on?" I asked as I cuddled into his chest.

"You know what's going on" he replied "I've got a fiancée that doesn't want to marry me"

"I do want to marry you, you know that?"

"But I want to make you happy and now you're dreading our wedding day, what kind of start is that for us?"

"I'm not postponing" I said to him firmly.

"I don't want to postpone" he said with a smile pulling at his lips "I want to bring it forward"

I sat bolt upright and stared at Danny "How are we meant to do that?" I asked.

"Well we can only do it if you meant what you said about not caring about all the hype around the wedding day and if you really don't mind not having a proper honeymoon. But we could have 'our day' without any press attention, nobody would know we were doing it"

My eyes widened with excitement at the thought of getting 'our day' back. "How?" I asked, not daring to believe that it was actually possible.

"In America" Danny said with a smile "We've got all of our family and friends there for 3 days. We have our stag and hen night on the first night, a day in between and we get married on the last day. But we don't tell anyone we're doing it, let everyone believe that the wedding's going ahead as planned and we tell them the night before"

A smile was beaming from my face, why had we not thought about this sooner? It was perfect. I nodded, too excited to find words, I flung my arms around Danny.

As we pulled out of the hug he said to me "So are we doing this?"

"I'm getting married in 4 weeks!" I screeched excitedly, it was so high pitched it was barely audible.

"Ssshhh" Danny said, trying to calm me down as he hugged me.

There was a knock at the bedroom door before Quinner and the doctor came in.

"You're looking a lot better" the doctor said to Danny with a smile as he removed the IV line from Danny's arm.

"Yeah, thanks doc, I feel it" Danny said, sounding upbeat.

"OK, we need you to try to eat something first but if you can keep it down you should be alright to get on stage tonight. You need to remember that this isn't a quick fix. It'll get you through tonight but I'm prescribing plenty of rest and you need to get some decent sleep. Don't be surprised if you feel a bit groggy tomorrow but call me if it's anything more than that, OK?" the doctor explained.

"Thanks doctor, I'll make sure he rests" I said as I shook his hand and saw him to the door.

Quinner offered to go and get Danny some soup but said sternly "Then we need to leave"

"We'll leave when he's ready" I said, standing up to Quinner again.

While Quinner went to get the soup and Danny went in the shower, I rang Mark to let him know that it was looking likely that Danny would be able to perform.

"I knew he wouldn't let us down" Mark said
"We'll be there once he's eaten, see you soon" I said as I ended the call.

It was now almost 5pm and the venue was at least half an hour away, there was no chance that Danny would get to do a sound check so I wasn't going to rush him now.

He dressed in sweatpants and a hoodie knowing that he would need to get changed as soon as he got to the venue and when Quinner returned with his soup, he sat down at the table to eat it.

"Take your time" I said to Danny as I saw him glancing at his watch and knew he would be anxious about getting to the venue. Quinner didn't look happy at this advice but I really didn't care, my only concern was Danny.

Danny ate slowly, I knew that he was better when after his third mouthful he continued to eat, earlier today it wouldn't have stayed down that long, but I resisted saying anything until he finished the bowl.

Quinner looked at me. "We can go now" I said with a smile.

"Car's waiting outside" Quinner told me.

"Thanks for everything, I'm sorry I was so stubborn" I said as we went to leave.

"I can kind of see your point, you were only looking out for him. I'd have done the same thing for my wife" he told me.

I smiled at him before Danny and I made our way to the waiting car and sped off to the venue.
