2 Weeks Later

"Hurry up Kay, the plane won't wait for you, you know" Eleanor yelled from downstairs as I was struggling to close my suitcase.

"I'm coming El, there's plenty of time"  I yelled back, not realising that Eleanor had come upstairs.

"Actually, there's not" she said as she came into my bedroom and helped me to lift the case from my bed where I had been packing it and we struggled to get it down the stairs.

I handed Eleanor the spare key to my house before locking up and getting in the car with her to go to the airport.

"How are you feeling?" Eleanor asked me as we started on our journey.

"Really nervous actually" I told her honestly.  I wasn't nervous about seeing Danny, not at all, and we had some great plans for our time together. I think I just spend so much time looking forward to seeing him that when the time comes to leave I get all nervous about it.

As we arrived at the airport I realised that Eleanor had been right, we didn't have plenty of time, in fact I only just managed to reach check in before it was closing and I was told to go straight through departures.

Hugging Eleanor as we said our goodbyes, I then headed through to the departure lounge.

As I walked aimlessly around the shops trying to kill some time before I got on the plane I saw a beaded necklace that I knew Danny would love.  As I stood admiring it, the sales assistant approached to ask if I needed any help. "I'll take one of those" I smiled, pointing at the necklace.

"Is it for you?" she  asked

"No, it's a gift" I replied and she proceeded to wrap the box for me before handing over my purchase.

I now had just enough time to get a coffee before boarding the plane.  As I sat down with my drink I took out my phone and sent a text to Danny:

I'm at the airport, just waiting for my flight to be called. Got you the prefect prezzie. Can't wait to see you. xxx

Almost as soon as I pressed send, my phone started to ring, it was Danny.

"Hey babe" I answered

"Perfect prezzie eh? How did you manage to wrap yourself up? I can't wait to unwrap that gift."

"All in good time honey"

"Listen Kay, we have a bit of a problem" Danny said as he got to the reason for his call "one of the tracks on the album is too long and we need to shave it, I'm in the studio at the minute but I don't think I'm gunna be done in time to pick you up at the airport"

"Ok, no problem" I said as I tried to hide my disappointment.

"Look I'm going to send Sean to meet you, you can drop off your bags at the apartment and then come and meet me at the studio. Hopefully I'll be done when you get here."

"Ok, well get back to work then, the sooner it's done ...."

"I'm going babe, see you soon yeah?"

"Can't wait"

We hung up the call.  This was so typical of Danny to end up being stuck at the studio.  How do you shave a song anyway?  Of course I was disappointed but I know that Danny's a perfectionist when it comes to his music so it's best just to let him do what he needs to do.  And I still get to see him tonight so all is not lost.

"Could all passengers traveling on flight BA1335 please make your way to the boarding gate" came the announcement over the loud speaker.

I headed to the gate, handing over my boarding pass and then made my way to the plane.
I settled in my seat and fastened my seatbelt tightly around my waist taking deep breaths in and out in an attempt to calm down.  I hated flying, well that's not entirely true, I hate taking off and landing but I'm yet to find a flight where these are not necessary evils and on the short flight to London the time spent actually up in the air is minimal.
