6 Months Later :

It's hard trying to date someone in the public eye, especially when you have no desire to be recognised.  It can be difficult to go out together, no matter how good his disguise is, someone will always recognise him, usually when you least want to be seen.

It's not a bad thing, it's what he works so hard for, recognition, and his fans are usually really nice and just ask for an autograph or a photo which takes 2 minutes to sort out and then we can go on our way.

That's not the worst part though, the worst part is trying to find gaps in his busy schedule that allows us to spend more than 5 minutes together.

But we make it work, texting each other throughout the day and speaking to each other as often as we can.  We try to have 'date night' at least once a week where we head to 'Skype bar' for the night.  I can sometimes let myself believe it's just like a real date and we both still make the effort to look good for each other but the problem with 'Skype bar' is that I can't touch him, hold him close and feel his warmth.

The plus side to our way of dating is that we speak so much that we literally know each other inside out, it would probably take a 'normal' couple 10 years to talk as much as we have over the past 6 months.

I didn't see Danny for about 6 weeks after our first meeting as his schedule wouldn't allow us time to meet up. I wondered if I had perhaps placed myself in the 'friend zone' with him as we discussed things that you just wouldn't talk to a new partner about, but as soon as his schedule allowed, Danny flew me to London to spend 3 days together and after taking me on that 'epic' date, passion took over us and as he lay me gently on his bed he showed me that we are definitely more than just friends.

During those 3 days together, Danny introduced me to Mark as they were called into the studio unexpectedly to do some production work.  It all went way over my head but I am now an expert tea maker for all of the production staff, they really are powered by tea!

Mark's cool and we get along really well, last time I went to London, Danny and I went out for dinner with Mark and Rina, a proper double date, which was great but they seem to get recognised more when they are together so the night was disturbed by fans a little more than usual.

I haven't met Glen yet, he has always been in Dublin when I am visiting Danny, who knows how crazy it could get when all 3 of them are together?

Nobody really knows that Danny and I are together, we decided just to live our lives and not go out of our way to confirm or deny our relationship.  The basic rule of this is that we don't lie about being together but we never offer anyone more information than they ask for.

It sounds crazy but it works.  With the exception of Eleanor, all my friends know is that I'm seeing a guy called Dan and he works away a lot.  Who is really going to ask me outright if I'm Danny O'Donoghue's girlfriend?

With Danny, he had never really been asked specifics and has only ever confirmed that he has 'found someone special'.  I think most of the fans think he is still with Anne.  Danny chose not to publicly announce their split to fans simply because he never actually announced that they were together.  When fans ask if someone special has a name, he simply answers yes.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to tell the world that we are together, but I like the bubble of privacy that we are currently in and I'm not ready to burst that just yet.

Today was a difficult day for me as I have been helping Eleanor and George move into their new place together.  It showed me the pace that a 'normal' relationship moves at.  They had their first date on the same night I met Danny and here they are moving in together and looking forward to spending the rest of their lives together while I can still count the number of days that I have actually spent with Danny.  Don't get me wrong, all time with Danny is priceless, I just wish I got more of it.

But all of his hard work has paid off, it is looking like they will be able to deliver the new album to their label ahead of schedule which means that in 2 weeks time I am going to spend a full week with Danny.

I can't wait.
