AYESHA's P.O.V
I'm here at the publishing office to submit the files made by Briana. My co-publisher student, who's absent today, so I ended up being the one to submit them. I handed the files to our head publisher.
"Ms. Sanchez." I turned as the head councilor of the Sport Participants Students (SPA), Adrian, walked in. He's a graduating student and was carrying a bunch of folders. He placed them on the table and approached me. "The intramurals are approaching. Are you ready?"
"Yes, HC," I replied softly. We call him HC, which stands for head councilor.
"Good. Make sure to capture great photos of the players for the newspaper. Okay?" I nodded with a smile. "Sure." He left the publishing office. I sighed deeply and smiled. I refocused on my task. Our team leader had assigned me to organize documents, files, and the history of Henderson University.
Our team leader instructed me not to open the files and documents. The Dean strictly prohibits it, even though I'm curious about Henderson's history. I resisted my curiosity. After arranging everything on the shelf, I dusted off my pants because they were dusty. I also stretched my body because I suddenly felt stiff. My neck was sore. I rotated my head. Maybe I strained it from bending too much.
I left the publishing office, carrying my locker key. I left my bag there for the meantime. Kyler picked me up since he had a free period. For now, I told him to attend his class because I had something to do. I walked along the pathway, smiling while making my locker key jingle. The air was slightly breezy, not too hot. It wasn't too noisy either since most of the year levels were in class.
As I was about to enter our building, I suddenly closed my eyes and stopped. I felt something strange on my body, like something sticky dripping all over me from above. I heard laughter. I slowly opened my eyes and looked at myself. I was covered in white paint. It was sticky on my body. I wiped my face with the handkerchief in my pocket. I looked up to see who did it, although I already knew. Our building has five floors, and we were on the ground floor. Bomi's room was on the third floor, so it was definitely them. But there was nothing I could do about it yet.
As I lifted my head carefully to see them, I saw a paint can falling rapidly from above. I closed my eyes since it was too late to dodge it. I suddenly felt a familiar body embracing me, and I recognized the scent. I opened my eyes. "A-Alexander?" I stuttered. He released me from the embrace and looked up.
"Everyone come down here!!!" Alexander shouted, almost echoing throughout the campus. He glanced at me again, and I looked at his head where blood was dripping. I was about to reach out to touch his head when he stepped back. "I did this not for you but for Kyler," he said seriously.
"Thank you still," I said. "You got hurt because of me." He stared at me for a moment after what I said. Justine, Wesley, and Kyler arrived suddenly. Kyler approached me and took off his suit jacket, putting it over me. My shirt was thin, so my bra was visible because of the wet paint. "Thanks, Moo," Kyler said as he held me by the waist. I looked at Alexander. He was staring at us but quickly looked away.
"Bro," Justine said, "your head is bleeding." Alexander touched his head and looked at the blood, seemingly unfazed.
"Take him to the clinic," I said worriedly. Kyler looked at me. "It's my fault, Moo, that's why he got hurt." Kyler stared at me, then at Alexander, who avoided his gaze.
"Thank you for saving my girlfriend, Alexander," Kyler said. Alexander just looked at him. Wesley handed Alexander a handkerchief, but he didn't accept it, letting his blood drip on his face. I worried about him. It seemed like he got a big wound from the fall of the paint can.
