STELLA'S P.O.V.
I sit quietly beside Kyler, just trying to sense his mood. He doesn't speak to me or even acknowledge my presence. I know what I did was unforgivable. But even if the same situation were to happen again, I wouldn't change my decision. What I did was wrong, but it felt right at that moment. I'm prepared for whatever happens between Ayesha and me. When I return, I'll tell her the truth. We're in the van heading to our vacation house in Tagaytay, where Alyosha is. My phone rings, and I check the caller. It's Hope. I answer.
"Hello, how are you? Is Ayesha okay?" Kyler glances at me, then returns his gaze outside the window.
[They're just fine. Looks like something happened between her and Alexander.]
"What do you mean by 'something happened'?" I ask, surprised. The phrase 'something happened' could mean a lot of things. Kyler looks at me again, seeming taken aback.
[Oh, it's not what you're thinking. But we don't know for sure. What I mean is, Alexander left the villa first, looking paralyzed, and then Ayesha followed, looking dazed.]
"Maybe they just had a conversation."
[We're here at our villa. Alexander's in the room. Ayesha's sitting on the couch with Natasha, Wesley, and Justine... hmm, where are you guys?]
"We're almost there," I reply. "You can call again later."
[I'll try. We're going to a beach resort. Meet us there. I'll text you the address. Will it take long for you?]
"Alright. I don't know. Yes, no, maybe..."
[Hmm. Good luck.] I hear her sigh. [Bye.]
I hang up and sigh deeply. Is this what I feared the most? The day has finally come. But I have to face it.
"What happened to Ayesha and Alexander?" he asks without looking at me.
"They're fine... but there's something different about their behavior."
"Hmm," he says.
"I know you're angry, Kyler, and I'm not asking for your forgiveness right now. But I want to know how Ayesha is. I know she cares about you," I say. This time, Kyler looks at me. He sighs deeply. The driver isn't paying attention to our conversation because we asked him to turn up the music.
"I'll do what's right," he says, looking out the window. "She seems to like me... maybe things can change. But her love for Alexander will return once she knows the truth, or maybe not, we don't know what happened last night or right now. They've admitted their feelings to each other, but they can't act on them because of our complicated situation."
"When we get back... will you also tell Ayesha the truth?"
"Yes. Because it's the right thing to do. I think she'll have a hard time understanding everything, but I know she'll eventually accept it. You know, Stella, last night... I thought about your story. I realized you didn't do anything wrong... except risking other people's lives... I think you did what was right in that moment... sometimes, in times of desperation, what's wrong becomes right in our eyes, especially if what you're sacrificing is the life of someone you love. Right now, I just want to see Alyosha... and be with him. I'll explain everything to him."
"I'm sorry," I say, holding his hand.
"All you need to do is trust that everything will be okay. Just accept that there are decisions that can change the course of our lives. It's our choice." He smiles faintly, and I nod.
"We're here, sir. Kyler and lady Stella," the driver says.
Kyler and I look outside. The wooden double doors open. He tightens his grip on my hand, then lets go. He takes a deep breath. He's trembling and cold, but it's evident he's eager to see Alyosha.
