*It's Monday, Homecoming was on Saturday*

I was sitting in Shop class, taking notes when my teacher's classroom phone rang. "Hello? Yes....she is present....ok, she'll be right there." she hung up. "(Y/n)(L/n), go to the principal's office, she'd like a word with you." I stood up and headed to the principal's office, dilly-dallying on the way. She sat behind her desk and stared at me. "Take a seat, (y/n)." she said. I sat and listened to her.

Principal: (y/n)...your behavior on homecoming night was unacceptable. Sandra told me the whole story. She is suspended for 5 days. I took a look at you profile and you didn't have a single offense until now. But...your grades are very good, so I'll give you a choice. You can either provide a service for the school, or be suspended for 5 days and catch up on your work when you get back. Take your pick.

You: um...I'd like to provide a service for the school. But what can I do?

Principal: Well, the school bonfire is coming up to celebrate Halloween...the only act open is someone to sing and perform on stage for entertainment...

You: I'll do that! THANK YOU SO MUCH, PRINCIPAL CAMPBELL!! I WON'T LET YOU DOWN.

With that, I walked out of her office and planned a song to sing. Wait. My voice may not be able to go along with the song...SHIT. Ok. I'll practice with the orchestra teacher, Mrs. Marshall. She can help me condition my voice in time. When I got back to Shop class, Kellin asked what happened.

Kellin: (Y/N), WHAT DID SHE SAY!?

You: She found out about the fight. She gave me a choice. I either get suspended for 5 days or provide a school service, and I chose the school service.

Kellin: what service do you need to provide?

You: the school bonfire will be this week on Friday, I'll be performing a song on stage, outside.

Kellin: that's not so bad. Cool! Can I come?

You: well, yea..if you want.

Kellin: I'll bring Andy and Vic with me. We'll cheer you on.

You: awww, thanks, kells.

The bell rang and I walked Kellin to his car.

TUESDAY:

I quickly made my way to Mrs. Marshall's class, she was waiting for me. I walked in and she greeted me.

Mrs. Marshall: So, (y/n), have you chosen a song to sing at the bonfire? You know it has to be related to Halloween, right?

You: Yes ma'am, I know and I chose the perfect song. It's called Dead Walker Texas Ranger.

Mrs. Marshall: Alrighty then, let's get started. Let me listen to the song first and I'll get your vocals into order.

She listened to the whole song and got to making me sing high notes, and practice screaming. My voice felt so strained after the practice. My throat was a bit sore too. "Ok, well, thanks Mrs. Marshall. I'll be back tomorrow." I thanked her. "You're welcome, (y/n). Oh, and Mr. Damon will be here tomorrow to work on choreography as well, have a nice day." she said. I waved goodbye and drove back home. Vic and Andy texted me in a group chat...

Vic: Heyy, gurly! ;)

Andy: Heyyy, (y/n)

You: Oh, hey guys! :)

Vic: So Kells told us you'd be performing for the school bonfire...

You: Yup! I'll be singing and dancing to Dead Walker Texas Ranger.
