"The song is serious?" Lindy was now very confused.
There was a long pause then the lady on phone shouted, "What year in FuturePast do you live?"
Lindy started to wonder if this was some sort of trick her mother was playing, or else one of those dangerous stranger situations. "I'm not going to tell you any personal information," she said.
Lindy's mother heard that. "I don't care. I know everything about you!"
"No, mom, someone is on the phone."
Her mother looked at Lindy in the rear view mirror. "See! You are playing with the phone."
"I'm not playing!"
"Right," her mom winked.
Now Lindy was in a terrible mood indeed.
"Please—" shouted the voice on the other line "—at least tell me how you are talking to me!"
"My mom found an old phone at Savers for $4.99 with twenty percent off coupon!" said Lindy. "And then you called me on it."
They were pulling into the garage. Lindy's mom peered into the back seat. "I knew you secretly liked that phone."
"No!" Lindy grumbled. "I'm talking to someone who is named Patricia . . .I think."
"No!" said the voice on the phone. "I was only looking for Pat—but hold on, who are you?"
Her mom turned off the car. "Sure."
Lindy was suddenly now in the mood to eat. She said, "Its time for dinner. Got to go. Bye." and hung up the phone.
A terrible scream came out of the receiver before Lindy hung up.
