ALEX’S POV

“And what if I don’t? “ I snapped, opening one eye lazily. As soon as I saw who it was, my cigarette fell to the ground and my hands flew up and covered my mouth.

“I’d say I’d be a right bit sad.” He answered, a smile playing on his lips.

My hands shook, but I fumbled out a cigarette for him. He smiled at me.

“What band are you guys with?” He asked, being friendly.

“Between The Tides.” I replied, my voice a bit shaken. His eyebrows furrowed together.

“Hm. Gonna have to give it a right good listen then, never heard of you guys before.” He said. Just then Gage came around the trailer.

“THANKS FOR THE HELP LADIES.” Ivy laughed lightly. I just grinned, shrugging.

“Tour manager?” He asked.

I shook my head. “Gage is our drummer.”

“Oh, excuse me. I forgot to introduce myself! Well fuck me then. My name’s Cameron. I go by…” He was cut off before he could finish his sentence.

“CAM! There you are, you cheeky bastard! Ben’s been looking everywhere for you. I think he’s starting to panic.” A slightly shorter guy called out. “oh.” He said suddenly, looking Ivy over. “Cam, no groupies.” He said sternly. “We made that rule already.” Cam nodded.

“Yes, I know. But these girls are in a band.” The new guy turned around to face us again. “This is Sam. He plays bass for us.”

“I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to insult you!” Sam apologized.

“SOUND. CHECK.” Gage said in my ear, making me jump.

“Jesus fuck! Alright!” I glared at him. “Come on Ivy.” I looked at the two boys standing there awkwardly.

“I guess we’ll catch up later then…” I heard Cam say as I drug Ivy way from Sam.

“Bye!” She called. “GOD DAMN IT, LET GO ALEXNDRIA JADE!” She swiped at my hand.

I smiled and grabbed a bottled water and followed Gage and Jesse up to the main stage.

Ivy was too sensitive to get mixed up with those boys. She knew their music, but I knew who these boys were and what they did to women. Not to mention the alcohol. The last thing Ivy needed in her life was another miserable drunk. I had no intentions of letting her mix up with any of them, but least of all that Danny Worsnop.

I set up my mic, and tested it. I looked at Gage, and he gave me the thumbs up. Ivy did the same with her mic, and she fiddled with her guitar. Jesse warmed up his bass, and Luke bounced around with his guitar. I started my vocal warm ups, using the equipment. As soon as we were all ready to go, I noticed Asking Alexandria standing off stage watching. My cheeks burned. I’ve never been crowd shy… Why was I feeling so nervous? Gage started the drum beat, rolling his eyes. When Ivy cued me in I entered with my vocals.

I don’t even know what to say

You can’t say I didn’t fucking try

I guess it’s come what may

Now, I’ll be the one who didn’t lie

FUCK!

I hate that you feel so distant

I can’t stand that you’re a cheat

So, I’ll great you with resistance

And act like we never did meet

Don’t you dare act offended

You did this to yourself

Oh, no this can’t be fucking mended

So until you can admit to all of your wrongs

I’ll be walking the other way

Middle finger up, right where it belongs

I finished the song, and immediately heard clapping behind me. I turned around to see Cam standing there. He smiled and said “Don’t know why you’re practicing so early. Shows don’t start for another two days... But bravo. Are you lot hungry? We’re having a bar-be-que back at our bus.” Everyone nodded and put the instruments away. “Alright, tally oh.” Cam said smiling. He linked his arm in mine and we headed off to the Asking Alexandria bus.

It was hard to miss, that’s for sure.  It was a HUGE black and silver bus with “ASKING ALEXANDRIA” printed right on the side. Gage looked it over with jealousy.
