Dear Insanity... I messed up again.

Chapter 12! Ben has.... Feelings?

          As the night carried on, I found myself laughing with Ben, and actually having a good time. We joked and drank some beer, and soon enough he stood and stretched.

          “I want to show you something, if you’re up for it!” He smiled and held his hand out to me. I nodded and he helped me up. My legs had fallen asleep and as soon as I was standing I collapsed. He caught me, and raised an eyebrow. “Little bit too much to drink, lady?”

          I laughed. “Oh, no… my legs are asleep.” I said playfully swatting at my knees to wake them up. He chuckled. “Do you normally catch girls that fall over?” I asked, curious.

          “Depends on why they are falling. And it might have to do with how much of a certain drink I’ve had.” He winked at me. I laughed and he wrapped my arm around his waist. “Here. Go on, steady yourself.” He chuckled. I had to admit. He was quite the charmer.

          “Where are we going anyway?” I asked as I leaned into him, taking in the smell of alcohol, cigarettes and body spray.

          “It’s a surprise. I’ve always gone here, since my first time on Warped.” He smiled at me. “And I’ve never shared it with anyone. Well, before now that is. I guess you could call it my thinking spot.” He directed me toward the main stage. I followed him as we walked. He helped me climb a ladder and climb out on a rafter. “Have a seat, and take in the view.”

          I sighed, shaking slightly. He plopped down next to me. “Are you alright?” He asked, concerned.

          I shook my head no. “I’m scared of heights…” He chuckled.

          “Come here.” He put his arm around my waist and pulled me in close. “I won’t let you fall… I promise.” He smiled down at me. We sat like that for just over an hour, and all of the sudden, a shooting star streaked across the sky.

          “Look!” I exclaimed, pointing at it. He smiled.

          “Now make a wish. And make it count.”

          I closed my eyes. I sat there for a second before I felt Ben move in closer and place his lips gently against mine.

          After what seemed like an eternity, we parted. He cradled my face in his hand.

          “You’re beautiful… Perfect.” He said calmly, his eyes gazing into mine.

          I was pretty sure my face was fire engine red. “Th-Than-Thank you…” I stammered.

           All of the sudden, we heard yelling. We looked down below us on the stage.

          “I SWEAR TO GOD IF HE’S HURT HER, I’LL KILL HIM.” I sniggered. Luke was pissed.

          “That’s not what Ben’s like.” I heard Danny say shortly after. “I’m sure they’re both JUST FINE.”

          “Well, I guess that’s our clue to end the night.” Ben said sadly.

          “Don’t be sad. We’ll see each other again tomorrow.” I said, pulling myself up.

          “Speaking of tomorrow, what are your plans?” Ben asked.

          “Probably a day full of lectures from Luke, a few packs of cigarettes and some alcohol.” I replied, smiling.

          “How about you and I go out tomorrow?”
