Alexandria's POV
I sat on the cold leather couch in Ivy's garage. Ivy is my best friend, band mate and unofficial sister. I crossed my thin legs underneath myself, playing with the strings hanging near the huge rip in the knees of my black skinny jeans. I could hear her mother screaming and ranting through the walls, but I wasn't nervous. It was a common occurrence in her house, seeing as she was always mad about something or someone.
Suddenly, the heavy door slammed open and Ivy slammed it behind herself flipping her finger in her mother's general direction. "Fuckin cunt." Instead of asking what happened, I raised an eyebrow. "She says I can't tour this summer. I have to watch my stupid brother." I shook my head.
"Dude, you're 18. Why not just leave?" I argued.
"And go where?"
"I have the meal on wheels. You know I'd share my space." I said, unfolding my legs, gasping as the blood returned to them. I got to my feet, soon realizing that was a mistake, and fell into the stack of amps in front of me. "Stupid fucking legs" I grumbled, glaring at them. Ivy let out a small laugh. "Shut up." I glared at her. " “I'm not fucking laughing AT you jackass, I'm laughing WITH you." I chuckled. That was so like her. I glared, but with laughter in my eyes.
"I gotta go check my mail. Wanna come with me?" She nodded then ran into the house. She came out, hopping on her left foot, shoving her right into a purple high top. I grabbed my Motionless in White hoodie, and draped it over my shoulder. I stepped outside, lighting a cigarette. "I also gotta grab more cigarettes." She looked at me.
"You know I don't like it when you smoke so much. They're going to be the death of you." I rolled my green eyes, and looked right at her.
"You'll probably die before I do." She merely shook her head, and got in the car. I turned on the stereo and a smile crept onto my face. She looked at me and laughed. It was my favorite song by Memphis May Fire. I sang along at the top of my lungs.
"You know, I'm glad you're so damn good at that shit." I glanced at her, turning on my right turn signal, and pulling into the post office parking lot.
"What are you going on about?" She gave me the 'are you serious' look.
"Singing. All I can do is play this silly six string and scream." She sunk lower in the car's seat.
"Shut up. You know as well as I do that vocalists are the easiest to replace. You obviously have some talent." She looked at me, rolling her green eyes.
"Whatever you say, princess."
