|Chapter 40-Windsor Castle|

Violet's POV

Today was the day we'd be spending going around Berkshire, looking at all of the sights to see, which was my request. Of course, it wouldn't be spent with Dan's parents, but rather with Adrian, as his parents probably wouldn't have much fun, and they had to work. Adrian wanted to stay inside the house all day, because all the things that were somewhat interesting about Berkshire were stuff he knew all about and weren't very amusing to them any longer. Of course I insisted. Adrian was in the process of tying his shoes, while Dan was still in the other room obsessively straightening his hair.
"This won't be much fun, I'm telling you." Adrian said. He was starting to annoy the shit out of me, he was always complaining. I didn't want him to not like me though. What was I to do?

"Quit complaining, it's annoying." I said simply.

"Excuse you, at least I didn't show up to your house unexpectedly." He scoffed. What? Dan's parents didn't know I'd be here? I decided to let that go for now though.

"Adrian, I just asked you to quit complaining, me being here is a bit irrelevant."

"Are you my mom, dad? I don't think so, I'll complain all I want." He spat. I was like this when I was a teenager. I fought everything that offended me in the slightest.

"I'm your elder, I'm superior to you, you're a minor, your parents aren't here."

"Right, well then Dan is in charge of me."

"And I'm saying she is your boss too." Dan said from a door way behind us. We both turned our attention to him, slightly startled. "Here I was, thinking that for once my family could get along with one of my girlfriends, and my girlfriend could get along with them too." I could see the pain in his eyes. I hurt him. I knew I should have just tolerated his brother.

"I-" I started.

"We don't have time for this, we need to get to our first destination." He said. I hope I didn't ruin his day. I knew how excited he was to show me around his hometown and I had just ruined it.

"Where is our first destination?" I asked.

"Surprise." Dan smiled.

"I know where it's at." Adrian piped up, trying to piss me off. I turned my head back and glared at him.

"Good for you." I smiled.

"Thank you Dan, you know how much I love surprises." I said, taunting Adrian. He opened his mouth to say something, but Dan got there first.

"I swear if you tell her..." Dan threatened.

After that, we got into Dan's parents' car and drove. We pulled up to this massive castle. It was surrounded by walls.

"Welcome to Windsor Castle, love." Dan said, admiring it. The place was beautiful. We went in and everything was so beautiful. We admired some art and I grabbed Dan's hand and laced our fingers together. I moved in closer to him and leaned my head onto him, him doing the same, but his head rested softly on mine. This was so perfect. We stayed and examined a few more things and then hopped into the car. We were about to get moving when my phone buzzed, which prevented Dan from moving. Phil's face popped onto my screen and I answered it, expecting another daily checkup to see how we're doing, with Sarah in the distance, saying she misses us. Two things were missing though, Phil's cheerful voice, and Sarah all together.

"Hey! What's up." I said, gleefully, putting the phone on speaker. All I heard were word that I couldn't make out between sobs. Dan's eyes widened, and Adrian gave a confused, but worried look. He loved Phil. Dan snatched the phone from my hand.

"Phil? Are you okay? What happened? " Dan asked frantically. Phil tried to speak again but we still couldn't understand him. I glared at Dan before taking my phone back, signaling never to just take my phone out of my hand like that again.

"Phil, take a deep breath, calm down, what happened."I said, my voice was anxious, but still somewhat calm, to sooth Phil a bit. A few breaths came through the phone, and I couldn't make out everything Phil said, as he was clearly shocked by what happened, but I had the info I needed.

"S-sarah...... f-for an appointment...... th-the h-hospital c-called me......sh-she r-ran into a t-tree."
