Chapter 7

The Grand Magic Games

Lucy

I woke up in my bed at the hotel. I was still tired from yesterday.

Flashback

We boarded the train for the GMG. I sat between Rogue and Sting on one side, and our Exceeds and dragon on the other, while Minerva, Rufus, and Orga were at other compartment. When we sat down, Lector, Frosch, and Serenity went to sleep immediately.

I completely forgot to cast a Troia on both Slayers, but then decided to drop the idea when they fell asleep. I was surprised when Rogue's head fell onto my lap, and Sting's on my shoulder. I smiled at the both of them. They reminded me of Natsu. I put a hand on Rogue's head and began to stroke it. A few minutes later, I fell asleep, leaning my head on Stings's.

" Aww. This is so cute!"

     "They're in looooooove." I immediately thought of Happy.

     "Mm, Happy shut it." I slowly opened my eyes, seeing the Exceeds, Minerva, and Rufus staring at me and the still sleeping Dragon Slayers, noticing the position we were in. I whispered in their ears, "Rogue, Sting. We're here." They slowly woke up and turned red when they noticed. They started shouting at their Exceeds, who were teasing them, and I just laughed.

We got off the train and checked in at our hotel. Our room had 4 beds and 2 bathrooms. " I call the bed!" Minerva, Orga, Rufus, and I said, claiming our beds.

     "Hey, where are we going to sleep?" Sting asked.

      "Rouge can sleep on the couch, and you on the floor." Minerva said.

     "What? No fair! Lucy, help!" I giggled.

    "You know Minerva? You can sleep with Lector and Frosch. Serenity usually goes back to the Dragon Realm. I really don't mind sharing."

     "Really Lucy? Are you sure?" Minerva asked. I nodded back.

     "Natsu would always break into my apartment and sleep next to me, so yeah...I'm used to it."

     "Arigato, Lucy!" Sting ran up to me and hugged me.

    "Alright, alright Sting. But do anything pervy and you'll never see the light of day ever again." I sent him a death glare, and he lets go.

    "A-Aye."

Sting, Rogue, and I went walking around town with our Exceeds, stopping at the flower carts, parks, and much more. A few hours later, I lost them both.

     "Can you believe it Serenity? I turn away for one moment, and they're gone!" Serenity shook her head and turn mixed red-orange (Irritated)

    "Can't we just leave them?"

    "Have you seen how reckless they are?" Serenity paused.

"You got a point there." I finally picked up their scent and followed it to find a crowd surround them and —wait, Natsu?!

"Alright, I'm fired up! Karyū no Hōkō!" I got in the middle of the fight and took the attack.

     "Really Natsu, fighting before the competition?" As the dust settled, my right arm was badly burnt, so it covered most of my tattoo.

     "Lucy, are you okay?" Dammit! Is my cover blown?

     "Lucy?" Natsu said.

    "It's nothing. Memory Wipe!" I wiped the memory of Natsu and Happy of the past hour and teleported them back to their hotel. I collapsed to my knees next to Sting, Rouge, Lector, Frosch, and Serenity.

     "Lucy, we've got to get you to the infirmary now!" Sting said.

     "Really now? You're not worried about what gonna happen to you guys?" I sent them a glare that sent a shiver up their spines.

    "Besides, I can heal myself." I healed my right arm, revealing my tattoo.

     "Lucy, what is that?" Sting asked. I sighed.

     "Long story short, this tattoo can help me summon dragons. Let's leave it at that."

We walked back to our hotel, only have Minerva come back a few minutes after us.

     "Sorry Lucy. I was just having some fun." I knew what she meant by 'fun', but before I could ask her, the little pumpkin mascot came up on the night blue sky.

     "Welcome to the Grand Magic Games, kabo! This preliminary event will determine the 8 guilds that will be eligible to participate in the Games! The challenge: Find your way out of the labyrinth!" A sky labyrinth appeared in the air. "All members must be present at the end. So on your marks, get set, go!"

"Everyone, hold hands!" They did what they were told. " Teleport : The End Goal!" We got to the goal in less than 10 seconds, scaring Mato, the pumpkin mascot. Mato told us that we were the first guild to reach the goal and to beat the record. We got back to the hotel and dropped like flies.

Flashback Ends

I got up out of bed and went to take a shower. I dressed in a black tank top with white mid-thigh shorts. I grabbed my cloak, called Serenity up, and and rushed out of the hotel towards the arena.
