Now as the summer fades, I let you slip away,

You say I'm not your type, but I can make you sway.

It makes you burn to learn, you're not the only one,

I'd let you let be if you put down your blazing gun.

....

It has been a week since Josh Devine asked me out, and I couldn't be happier.

He was the quintessential nice guy - opening doors for me, giving me his jacket, kissing me before class...

Regina and the others seemed to approve, except for Sam. Sam blatantly said one day at lunch that "Styles was more fun."

What shocked me, though, is Harry's reaction.

Today, Friday, I made me and Josh's relationship "Facebook official". Harry walked into first period...on time.

"Ali," he growled, sinking into his seat beside me.

"Yes?" I was surprised at how upset he looked.

"I heard you're dating that Ol'-Chap-Cup-Of-Tea guy. Is that fucking true?"

"Yeah, Harry, calm down."

"Are you kidding me? Already?"

"I'm not kidding you - I'm dating him because I like him."

"You don't even know anything about him!" he said, a little loudly. Kids were turning.

I opened my mouth, but he kind of had a point. "I know enough."

"No you don't! Ali," he was struggling to keep his voice down. "You know the only reason that you're with him is cause of that annoying ass accent."

"I'm glad you think so highly of me!" I snapped. "He's an amazing person!"

"So amazing," he mocked. "Let's just remember who won the Revolutionary War."

"Harry, stop messing around! I like Josh, and I know plenty about him!"

"Like what?" he said. "What do you possibly know about him? And if you say that he's from fucking England, I will snap."

"No! I know that he's a sweet guy, something you never were!"

He didn't respond immediately, and I peeked to assess the damage I had done. Harry was looking at the floor. "I tried," he muttered. "I tried to change for you." And just like that, Harry rose to his feet and was out of the door. He didn't come back to class.

I had wanted to talk to Louis during third, but when he noticed me approaching, he just shook his head silently. I guess he didn't want to ignite the fuse any more.

Seeing Josh though, had helped. After school, we had went window shopping. He was gazing at the music instrument store - called Treble Clef - and he turned to look at me.

"Those drums are beautiful. Here, let's go in."

Smiling, I took his hand and walked with him. The inside was blaring Guns N Roses' "Welcome to the Jungle", and the customers were literally all male. Some boys were staring at vintage, pastel guitars, and Josh made a beeline for the drums near the back of the store.

"I didn't know you played drums," I said, sitting on an amp.

"My second favorite thing in the world," he replied.

"What's your first?"

"I'm afraid if I say it, you'll find me cheesy." He winked at me and picked up a pair of sticks. It was then he started slamming on every drum, on every cymbal, moving so fast it was incredible to see how he kept this complicated beat. His bottom lip held his teeth firmly, and his cheeks were already flushing.
