Author's Note ~ Just wanted to say thank you for all the nice comments and messages! I might not get around to replying - I reply to the very best ones - but I appreciate and love all of this positive feedback on something I work so hard on. Some of you asked what my name was: it's Joya! Ilysm. xx

And I don't get waves of missing you anymore,

They're more like tsunami tides in my eyes

Never getting dry, so I get high, smoke away the days, never sleep with the light on,

Weeks pass in the blink of an eye,

And I'm still drunk by the end of the night.

HARRY POV

I drove up outside Louis' house, my mind still on the very strange weekend I spent with Ali.

It was nice.

That's what made it so strange.

Hanging out downtown was pretty cool, besides the fact that she stiffened every time I touched her, wouldn't look me in the eye. As much as I tried to brush it off, it hurt. Bad.

I guess she really was over me.

Louis bounded out of his house just then, rubbing one of his little sisters' heads.

"Morning, Harry!" Lottie said, waving at me before shutting the door.

Louis was opening my car door, wearing an Arctic Monkeys shirt under his denim jacket and skinny jeans. His hair looked extra flippy today, his chin stubbly.

"I need a cigarette," he groaned. "Give me one."

"Bad night?" I asked, handing him my unopened pack.

"Bad weekend." Louis took my Zippo from my glove compartment and flicked it open.

"What's going on," I asked dryly.

"Regina. She's been on my case lately."

"Why's that."

"I don't know. She says I'm not 'responsible'." Louis rolled his eyes. "Where the hell did she get that?"

My lips twitched. "No idea."

"Whatever." Louis smoothed down his hair, exhaling smoke out of my window. "What'd you do, Haz?"

"Hung out with Ali."

Louis' head snapped towards me. "What?"

"Yeah. We, uh, we decided we were still going to be friends and shit. We went out to dinner, then costume shopping for Halloween. I hung out at her place Sunday. That's it."

Louis lifted one brow, exhaling more smoke and watching it curl in the air. "Where was her new boyfriend all this time?"

I slowed down at a light, keeping my eyes on the road. "I'd tell you if I knew."

"He creeps me out," Louis said.

"Creeps?"

"Like, the dude seems a little too perfect."

I nodded slowly, turning a corner.

I felt Louis' eyes on my face. "You're quiet today. You okay?"

I just shrugged one shoulder. In reality, I felt...weird. Weird about making her laugh. Weird about watching stupid movies with her. Weird about the fact that I could do all of this and not hold her like I want to. And not touch her, or kiss her like I want to. Not anymore.
