I dedicate this song to you,

The one who never sees the truth,

That I can take away your hurt.

Heartbreak girl.

- "Heartbreak Girl", 5 Seconds of Summer

....

I have never felt so conflicted in my life.

Seeing Harry with that other girl - Heather - killed me. Though I would never admit it out loud, it did.

I knew I was over Harry, and he can't just sit around alone forever while I dated other people, but seeing someone you loved just months ago moving on really did hurt.

Maybe that's how Harry felt when I started dating Josh.

Being on the receiving end of something like this made my heart twist.

But nothing was a worse blow than when Harry said that it couldn't work, that we couldn't be friends. It was either all or nothing for us. I was stupid to think that I could have Harry in my life while I was with Josh. We just didn't work that way. Nothing worked that way.

I slowly pulled my jacket on, picking up my backpack. No wonder Harry got so mad when I had accused him of trying to destroy me and Josh's relationship.

I need to stop thinking that Harry's life revolves around me.

But I wanted that girl away from him.

What the hell was wrong with me? When did I become so selfish?

I shuffled downstairs while I waited for Liam's car to come pick me up. He would make me feel better.

As if cued, Liam's car chugged around the corner in front of my house. Liam was driving - but Niall wasn't in the passengers and no one was in the back.

Confused, I walked out of my house and to the car, where Liam was getting out.

"Hi," I said. "Where's Josh?"

"He said he wasn't feeling well," answered Liam, smoothing his short feathery hair. "I asked him why he wouldn't just call you, but he just wanted me to come get you."

"Oh," I mumbled, still not making much sense of it. "Josh seemed fine last night. Do you know what's bothering him?"

"Not at all. He was just lying in bed this morning and seemed to sick to even move. I considered staying with him but he insisted I go. I don't know, probably a stomach bug." He shrugged one shoulder.

I looked down at my shoes.

After an awkward pause, Liam swallowed audibly. "Well, do you want me to drive you, then?"

"Sure." I smiled, to make him feel a little more comfortable, but I was worried sick about Josh. I really hoped he was doing okay, in that massive house by himself.

Liam snapped his seatbelt and started the car, pulling smoothly down the road and fiddling with the radio. He turned up the sound, probably to fill up some of the silence.

"The year's going by pretty well," I said suddenly to Liam.

"Yeah, definitely." Liam rubbed at his chin. "Classes are all right."
