_______________________Jay POV
A few days passed and it was around a week before the coronation. I thought of how much has changed. Carlos was no longer afraid of dogs, I learned some teamwork in tourney, Evie learned to love someone who isn't a prince, and Mal and Ben got closer each day.
We were in Remedial Goodness, staying a little later to finish some reading for our homework. The Fairy Godmother came up to us, with a smile.
"Excuse me, children." She said getting our full attention. "As you all know, tomorrow is Family Day, and because your parents won't be able to attend, we've arrange for a special treat."
She walked to the very front, where Jane sat up a computer. We followed her, and when the Fairy Godmother pressed a button, Maleficent appeared on the screen.
Mal POV
"I don't see anything, nor do I hear." My mother said. We all walked to the screen behind the Fairy Godmother, while Jane sat at a nearby table. Our parents appeared when Maleficent moved away.
They started to argue about how to make their side of the the screen work. Eventually the screen turned on on their side, and we were facing our parents.
"Evie! It's mommy." Her mother said while waving. "Look how beautiful. Oh you know what they say, 'the poison apple doesn't fall far from the tree.'"
"Don't you mean the weeds." My mother corrected her.
"Ahem," I said "may I introduce to you the Fairy Godmother."
"Still doing tricks with eggplants." My mother cackled.
"I turned a pumpkin into a beautiful carriage!" The Fairy Godmother defended.
"You really couldn't give Cinderella til one am, what the hamsters had to get back on their little wheels."
"They were mice!"
"Excuse me, can we talk." Carlos said. The Fairy Godmother nodded and went beside the screen.
"Hi mom." I said.
"Mal!" She yelled out, startling us. "I miss you." She stuttered the last part, not wanting to be say the words.
Yeah right. She only wants the wand.
"How long must we wait to see you all again?" My mother asked us.
"Well, maybe after the coronation. When the ship docks."
"When?"
"The coronation is a week and a half away, and the ship will dock possibly a day later."
"Hey, Mal." We turned to see Ben, Audrey and Doug coming in. "What are you doing?"
"We're in the middle of a conversation with our parents." Jay said. Audrey took a step back, but Doug and Ben came by Evie and me.
"Who are they?" Evil Queen asked.
"Well, I am Prince Ben, soon to be king. I am also Mal boyfriend." Ben said, with a small smile.
"Your boyfriend?" My mother said sounding surprised.
"Yes, and this is Doug, son of Dopey of the seven dwarves. Doug will be Evie's date to my coronation."
"What?!" Evil Queen yelled out.
"Mother, just listen-" Evie said in a calming voice, but was interrupted by her mom.
"Why aren't you with a prince?!"
"Listen to me!" She yelled out. Everyone got quiet, and her mom stared at her. "The only thing that matters is that I found love, and that Doug help me see that there more to life than beauty."
